228TO603 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I caught about a dozen Smallies at Pawtuckaway with a white spinner bait. It was fun , there are no smallmouth bass where I'm from. They hit the spinnerbait almost as soon as it hit the water, it was like I was hitting them in the head. I took a bicture with my blackberry but the file is too large to post . i'll work on that Quote
jaystraw Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 got out on Massesecum at 8:00am this morning. Winds were blowing at least 10-15mph when I got there, and cranked up to what felt like 30 mph by the time I eventually left. I managed to catch a lot of good quality fish in boulders around the islands and surrounding points. The biggest was a 4 lb 9 oz beauty LMB that I caught in very shallow water just off a large rock at the point of a cove. Quote

I am going out on Friday in the tracker with hopes of catching a few myself. Quote

Nice job Jaystraw.Fishing in the wind can be a double-edged sword.Boat and lure control can be very challenging in a strong wind.Despite the wind you had a good day.I hesitate to take my rowboat on windy days but often have success when I do. Today the wind was blowing very hard all day on Turee pond.I arrived at 6pm and the wind was still coming pretty hard from the NW.I found LMB along the shoreline that had been pounded by the wind all day.I landed 4 bass in 15 min. on t-rigged senkos. The largest was 20 inches long,my biggest of the year so far. jaystraw Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Thanks I was just coming back to edit the post to add the pic, but I'll just post it here: I'll tell you, I'm pretty sure I need a new scale. It looked like a five pounder when I caught it, and the pic makes me think it might be. Quote
fmoore Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Should have said 5 right from the start. Nobody would have questioned you! Good to see everyone doing well lately. I think the post spawn blues may be beginning to wear off in most bigger lakes. I caught 13 Friday night with 4 over 3 pounds and I've been off the water since then. Our boat needs a new trailer and since it's an 89 we decided to upgrade a little to a ~10 year old boat in the 18 foot range give or take (If anyone knows of anything I'd appreciate a heads up). On a side note, if anyone's interested in a 1989 16 foot deep V Tracker with new power, let me know. 2 fish finders, GPS, everything works, just needs a trailer. Quote

unhbass37 Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 Got out to BIP again today with a friend from work and did well. I caught 7 in about 2 hours. 3 smallies and 4 LMB. I also caught my PB smallie at 2lbs 3oz 8-). Very excited. He on the other caught the big O. Kinda stinks when you take someone out fishing and you catch all the fish. I will say he is new to fishing and I'm sure he will out fish me soon. Fun time none the less. Here is a picture of the smallie. Tom let me know if you want to go out tomorrow around 4pm Quote

228TO603 Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 I'm going to go fishing somewhere early tomorrow morning. It will have to be somewhere from shore. Anybody have any suggestions ?. there are houses all over the place on Baboosic so thats out, I could go back to Weare and fish Everett Dam? I have had enough of Pawtuckaway State Park (it looks like you could do some business in a boat though), the Manchester ponds are nasty looking...anywhere else that might be worth a shot ? Quote
Super User Shane J Posted June 17, 2010 Super User Posted June 17, 2010 What, you guys been sleeping? I'll be out with a few guys in car toppers tomorrow on Crooked pond in Loudon if anyone wants to help break this pond down tomorrow between 2:00pm and dark. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 I got out today, but just didn't post.Had a slow day and only caught 2. They were both in the mid 2 pound range. Quote
bwillis Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Hey Shane, how's the fishing on Crooked Pond? I went out there sometime in late April for like an hour and didn't have any luck, and I haven't had a chance to get out there since. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted June 17, 2010 Super User Posted June 17, 2010 Well, tell you the truth, I've had a hard time there, but hoping to reverse that tomorrow. My friend who will be there tomorrow caught a 7lb bass there a few days ago. Don't tell him I told you. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 I'm sure you will find her Shane. Good Luck. Quote
