unhbass37 Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 Got out today for a few hours at a private pond and did well. Caught 8 bass and one pickeral. All bass were over 1.5, But no pigs today. :-[. Fun and great weather to be out on the water. Hope you all got a chance to get out there also. Quote
228TO603 Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Fished Lincoln Pond this evening and caught a 2 fish quick on a Rage Craw one was pretty decent 1.5 or 2lbs. there was a guy wade fishing next to me and he landed a monster on a blue senko. The fish took the senko and ran hard , the guy had a mini spinning reel and it took some time to get her back to shore. It was in the 6lb neighborhood. you couldnt have convinced me there was a fish that big in there. The pond in 3 or 4 feet all the way around and it is covered in weeds and lilly pads.......Has anyone here ever tried to fish "Little" Baboosic Lake?? It's very remote and I tried to get in there this morning and just couldn't find a way in. Quote

As for little baboosic, i tried walking in once from walnut hill and embankment rd where the snow mobile trail is. i could not get anywhere close to the edge of the water. there is a very tiny swampy stream that runs into the pond that wou might be able to kayack up. other than that i think its unfishable. I live in Bedford, just moved here.. and I'm telling you brother I saw it with my own eyes. we were to the left of the little pier and abandonded cottage. There is a rock that sticks out the water, and he caught it right next to that rock. And i hiked down the same snowmobile trail !! and got bit by every mosquito in New Hampshire didn't even come close to getting near the lake and finally just gave up. anything in that lake hasnt seen a lure in a long long time if ever so i have to figure out a way in there. there is a conservation area that abuts the farm right on Baboosic Lake road . i might just try to hike it through there. Im afraid that if I ever got there it is probably surrounded by wetlands and marsh around the perimiter of the lake. Have you ever fished Joe English ? Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 Anyone fish Big Island Pond in Derry? If you have how is the fishing there? I realize it is a very big body of water, But am looking for some more options. I do know I need to pay a yearly fee to use it also. Are there any decent SM/LM in there? Thanks to all that can help out. BTW Welcome aboard 228TO603 Quote
FishingOnTheEdge Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Going to do some fishing on Suncook Lake today. Hopefully the smoke from Quebec doesnt make it to hard to breathe or see :-/. But it will definitely not deter me from fishing. Have a good day everyone. Quote

No sadly. I only caught 1 SMB and it was pretty small. I'm going back up this week. I had to leave the water early today because the motor decided to give me trouble. Going to repair it tomorrow and hopefully be back on the water Wednesday. I know there is great fishing in those waters and I believe i found my spots for there but wasn't able to fish it :-/ Quote

He even gave me a cool map and tips to help find the fish. 500+ acres so I will need it. Gonna try it out this week with a friend from work. I will post our results. Quote
fmoore Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 It's not bass fishing but what the hell...we took our saltwater boat out of Hampton yesterday and ended up with our limit of cod in a couple hours. 10 cod over 20 pounds with 1 at 35 and 1 at 30. We were tossing back 10 pounders because we knew we could catch bigger fish to fill our limit! 35 in my right hand and 30 in my left hand Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted June 1, 2010 Super User Posted June 1, 2010 in regards to big island pond, if your fishing something like a canoe or small boat you can carry, i know of another access that is unlisted but is an actual state access, you just have to carry or drag your boat down a small set of stairs to the water, i use it all the time and its not a pain Quote
bwillis Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I managed to get out to a little pond near Sewalls Falls in Concord, I fished from shore for about an hour or so, managed to catch a 2.25lb LMB and found 2 ticks on me there and 2 when I got home. All in all a good day though. Quote

I am taken my Bass tracker so I will need the launch. The pond is huge as you know I'm sure so the tracker is a better option for me. Quote

jaystraw Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Hey Guys. glad to see everyone is having a good season so far! Nice cod fmoore! I have not been able to get out on the big boat because on Friday afternoon my trolling motor prop fell off after I towed someones pontoon boaat back to the launch for them. It was close to shore, so I used the trolling motor and the prop just fell off after I left and got to my spot. If it was a minn kota, I could have replaced it that day, but being a motorguide, I had to order it online. But, I managed to get out on Monday in the canoe and catch a bunch of smallies. The were suprisingly still near the beds, and the water temp was around 73 or so. The only bad part was the incredible amount of smoke in the air until about 12ish. I could barely see across the lake! Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Great to see everyone's doing really well so far. I FINALLY got out for the first time this year on Monday. Went to the wilton reservoir for a couple hours, missed a few but caught one. Nothing big but had to take a pic for the first one of the year. Quote
