Got out to Mill pond today for a couple of hours and did OK. Caught 5 bass and lost one. Caught 2 on a lipless crankbait and the rest on Senkos. Fun day.

Had an amazing 2 days. I went out with Jay yesterday. Thanks Jay.

Today I went out to Secret Lake X, with my Dad and we caught 85 bass! It was one of my best days ever. Multiple 3 pounders and too many 2lbers to count. :)

The best part of the day was being able to take my Dad out and put him on the fish.

As for the sunglasses, I think that they are absolutely necessary. My glasses are as important to my rod and reel. Most of the fish I caught today were on or near beds. I couldn't even see the beds without polarized glasses. I wear Native's right now, but any quality pair will work great.

Here are a couple of pics from the day

Looks like everyone's been slaying lately. Awesome guys!

After a morning of cleaning the boats I hit Spofford Lake for the afternoon. I didn't get any pics because I was alone and I didn't want to take the time to set the camera up but I ended up with 11 smallies to 4 pounds 3 oz and 12 largemouth to 3 pounds 9 oz. I tried to leave the fish on the beds alone but all the big smallies were on beds. I caught multiple smallmouth over 3 and 2 over 4 off of beds. They absolutely annihilate Yamamoto Fat Baby Craws :) Caught one pike on the craw, too. That was weird :-?

Nice job Fmoore and Jaystraw.Whatever you guys have must be contagious.17 LMB today on Turee pond on senkos. This fishing was "up close and personal".All were caught in tiny coves and inlets. The largest were about 2.5 lbs. I lost 2 more that were bigger but I hooked them in a small cove and those bass essentially outmuscled and outmaneuvered me.It was no contest but I had a ball!

Looks like everyone has really been hitting the fish.

When I was at the lake putting my boat in this past week, a guy pulled up his truck. He was wearing a suit, probably on a lunch break of something.

He asked me if there were bass in the lake

I told him yes.

He then took the time to inform me that it was too early in the season to catch bass.

I told him that the 100+ bass I've already caught this year would probably disagree with him  ;D

Looks like the spawn is on in most places and the fishing should be good for the next couple of weeks.

Tight lines and good luck everyone

To early? Is he for real? Should of showed him all the pictures of the fish you have been catching. LOL.

Shane how do you do when you fish Lake Massabesic? I heard there are some decent smallies in there.I only fished it once and caught LMB.  Any advise you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to give kudos to Wagn in prior post.Think I was suffering from "baked brain syndrome" after a long day on Turee!

So, was it "too early" like "too early for the bass to be biting", or was it "to early" like "it's unethical to be lifting bass off their beds"?  I've heard the latter from some PETA types before.  It's definitely not to early for them to be biting...we all have been experiencing that.  I went out for a quick trip on Saturday, and caught SMB and LMBs pretty much at will.

Got out on Turkey Pond last night. Caught 3 LMB. The biggest weighing 2.88 pounds. It was a slow night though they just werent biting. At least I caught something though! that was a plus.

Well, UNH, Masabesic can be a tough place to fish, however, I have caught a bunch of real nice fish outta there, both largemouth and smallmouth. For the smallies, there's an area straigh back in the first section of the lake, past a few islands on your right, then hook way around some huge boulders, and troll right up the back bank. There's a shelf there, and when you work a plastic off the shelf, and it falls, there's usually a smallie there to grab it. Baits that have worked for me there, include weightless senkos, trickworms, Rage Craws, and small jigs. For LM, right now is the best time to hit it. Anywhere outside coves is money, including the cove right to your right as you launch (in Auburn), work all the way around that first penninsula, and throughout the coves, and you'll get bit by the largemouths. Early in the morning is best, and if it's still dark, throw topwater buzz frogs (I recommend the Rage Toad or Shad).

He was saying too early, like to early to catch bass. It's amazing the number of people who think that you can only fish once June hits.  :)

Oh and Eloo...thanks for the kudos :)

Heading out tomorrow. Supposed to be 94 degrees and no wind. I sure hope the fish don't mind

Got out tonight with my dad for the first time in a while. We brought the puppy for his first trip on the boat! He's 9 weeks old and we just got him Sunday. We managed to catch 5 or 6 largies/smallies in a few minutes of fishing before the little guy wanted to go play on the island and swim some more.
