unhbass37 Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 You park in the Conway parking lot. Weekends are tough to fish there as it gets jammed. Also it is open to the wind so it makes it very tough to fish when it's windy. Cold snap here also would make it harder to catch'em anyway. Quote
Kevin McG Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Ya today was awful! can't wait till it's steaming out there Quote
RyanA603 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Me too! I've been dying to fish for some Bass... been all salmon/trout this year. Maybe I'll see some of you guys there and learn a thing or two! I'm definitely not a new fisherman, but I dont know alot of the tricks or anything. Just grew up fishing. Hoping Thurs/Fri has atleast one good day so I can spend a whole day there Quote
jaystraw Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Quote Quote I'm pretty sure it was NHBasstard (spelling?) Not sure what you mean, haha. I went to Mill Pond today though. Was windy, full of people, and I couldn't figure out where to park haha. Was pretty disappointing LOL! I quoted the wrong thread. I''m pretty sure it was NHBasstard that posted the Powder Mill map last year wagn. Quote
eloo Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Fished from the boat ramp at Turee pond last eve.Cold and windy.Threw a black spinnerbait with a 4in. black grub trailer.Total length of the lure was around 6in.Caught a LMB that was no longer than 8in.Never ceases to amaze how willing a LMB is to take on a lure that is as large as the fish itself. Super User Shane J Posted May 11, 2010 Super User Posted May 11, 2010 I hear ya, Eloo. Last year I caught a baby little 5 incher on a 7" Anaconda, which has the profile of a 10"worm! Little tough guys! Quote
wagn Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 My strangest one was on a black buzzbait. I caught a 7bler (my record) on it one night. I went back to the same spot next time and caught a bass on it that was the size of my pinky the next night. Just goes to show you that you never know what you are going to catch. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 12, 2010 Author Posted May 12, 2010 That is so funny. The little fellas will hit anything. NO FEAR. This is why we all love bass fishing as much as we do. Never know what you will catch on a given day. Quote
jaystraw Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 got out yesterday in the freezing wind in the canoe on one of my favorite places in Newbury. Managed to catch about 10 bass, but it was so cold that I left early to warm up. Water temp was 54-57 degress following these cold nights. There were abandonded beds all over the place. On another note, if anyone is interested, in March I went to the Bahamas and caught a 35 pound Mahi Mahi. Here' a pic since I have none to show for yesterday. Me and Elroy with the 45 inch Mahi Mahi Quote
montrose Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Heading to Baxter Lake this morning. I have some new "stuff" to try. I'll post pics and progress. Have a wonderful day. Quote

Kevin McG Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Fished Lovewell pond this afternoon, caught about 6-7 black crappie but nothing else Caught my 1st fish on a senko though,Texas rigged.I really need to get out on that pond with a boat, I can't even imagine the bass that are in that place. If anybody with a canoe or flatbottom wants to head out let me know, I'll help lug the boat of course ;D Quote

montrose Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Only 2 at Baxter. Both shallow. The little one took the same thing the big one did - senkos! Both found in shallows. I think the big one was bedding. Quote

RyanA603 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Tried Mill Pond today... no luck. All I caught was a painter turtle... (Not kidding either) Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Ryan are you fishing from the shore or boat? Mill can be tough, but trust me there are some pigs in there. If you see a guy in a inflatable out there that is me and I can point out some good spots to help you out. Derek Quote
fmoore Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Got out on Spofford Lake today and I got 5 largemouth and 4 smallies while my friend caught 1 smallie plus a stocky pike. I guess I can't say the bite was tough but it was a little off. Lots of small fish. The bigger bass were on the edges of flats in water temps of ~58. Quote

You seem to always do well out there. Quote
fmoore Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Thanks UNH...I put my time in, I work hard at it and I'm getting better. It's a good feeling. Boat's been down for a week with a gearcase oil leak. I had to wait for the part to get here. Felt good to get back out. Good luck to all of you going to the get together tomorrow. Quote
RyanA603 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Shore. We're trying to get a boat in the water this year. Old trolling boat got a huge hole in it during the winter so I dont have anything for now. Only saw one person in a boat today though Quote
Kevin McG Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Hey guys! kinda off topic but I've been buying my supply's at Sports Authority but I was wondering if there was a better place local to Nashua? I remember when I was a kids Kmart was the place but don't think those are around anymore in this area(maybe Amherst St). Just wanted to ask before making a trek to 6 different stores wasting my time Oh and I am hoping to get out today, I was "tipped off" by a co-worker on a pond near Lovewell in Hollis. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Kevin I go to either Walmart or Granite State Rod and Reel. I assume you are going to Rocky Pond. Last time was there all the bass were very thin, Like they were starving. Hope things got better over there. Good luck. Quote
