SausageFingers23 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Water at 42 isnt bad at all. I expected colder in all honesty. Once we get close to 50 I expect the action to pick up significantly. The Elite Series is fishing in 50-60 degree water right now and they havent really seen the fish move up yet. Soon enough we'll all be pulling them in. I hope to grab a few before they really start to get active. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 i took the boat out to flints pond in hollis for about an hour today. the water temps were 47-49. the bait fish were jumping in the 49 degree areas. i had two pickeral come off at the boat. i was slow rolling spinnerbaits and tried a senko for the last 1/4 of the pond. i think the majority of fish are still deeper, but it was fun to just get out. windy. unhbass37 Posted March 20, 2010 Author Posted March 20, 2010 Glad you got out there. I will be in touch next week. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 got out again today with my son to flints pond in tyngsboro. lots of slop(dead weeds ect.) in the water plus more wind and my son had about 5 backlashes(last years mono line) so we just made it around the pond once. too much junk in the water to fish spinnerbaits. 90% of this pond is about 2 ft. deep now. son said he had a bite but nothing brought to the boat. NH_Bass_Tard Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I've been out twice this year and haven't had one bite. Both times there was still ice on the water, and the water temp was between 36-40 degrees. There shouldn't be anymore ice there so hopefully I can get out sometime during these upcoming warm days. unhbass37 Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Don't feel bad me either. I have been out twice also. Gonna try this weekend for sure to myself. Good luck out there. Quote

SausageFingers23 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hey guys. I've been fortunate enough to get out twice this year. Water is still pretty cold but appears to be warming quick. I've pulled in three total in two abbreviated trips. Im actually pretty happy with that. Quote

amhewy Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Live in central MA ice has just melted. Fished forge pond in westford twice in last two weeks. 1st outing my son caught two small bass and I got a good size perch. 2nd outing got skunked water temps didn't get over 46. Tough day but still good to be out. All fish caught on jerk bates with slow pauses. Quote
wagn Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Got out yesterday for the first time this year. Pouring rain, the water was 40 degrees, and I only got one bite on a lipless crank. Still great to get out on the water though. Quote

wagn Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Got out yesterday and the fish were really shallow. I was catching them good till the clouds cleared up and we got the high blue skies. The wind died off and so did the bite. Biggest was 4lbs 10oz and my buddy Mark caught a 4lb 2oz chunk. Everything was caught on jigs Quote
