nashua fisherman Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 got out to flints pond in hollis with the wife for a couple hours this morning. we caught 13 fish altogether. most were pickeral but we managed a few small bass. everything was caught on spinnerbaits. it started raineing so we headed back to the launch. on the way back we both hooked onto some large pickeral at the same time. wifes was 2.5 and mine was 1.4. the bass wernt worth photographing. this is my wifes PB pickeral. unhbass37 Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 Those are some big pickerel Tom. Did you just fish the edges or did you hit the middle? I got out today myself also for 3 hrs and caught 9 bass, But none were over 2 lbs. I lost a good 3+ just as I went to reach for it. Ooh well. Thats it for me for the weekend. Hope you all have good luck. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 thanks. we fished both. most were caught 20-30 ft from the shore. caught one in the middle. we went back out to otternick in hudson for an hour and caught a few more bass and pickeral. wife also caught a big bluegill. she caught the biggest fish, again. check out the belly. the weed weed kill doesnt seem to have effected the fishery. also, i sold that old outboard. unhbass37 Posted October 10, 2009 Author Posted October 10, 2009 How did you get in there? I was there 2 weeks ago and the chain was still up. NICE CATCH ANN.... Quote
nashua fisherman Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 thanks. the chain is only 4" off the ground. you can carry your boat over it. theres a sign that says "road closed", but nothing about "no fishing". water is real dark. pulled out alot of black weeds. seems to also be another plant taking over. Me and the gf were over by the launch area fishing from shore with no luck. we then moved to the launch site over on the nashua river side with no luck, did you catch anything. Nashuafisherman- just actually picked up a few more strike king mini's 1 in blue / black with colorodo blade all 1/8th oz. Ill have to head out now at lunch and try em out. Quote
unhbass37 Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Yes that was me and No I did not catch anything either. I could see them on the fish finder, But they were not hitting anything I had. I am thinking this is more SM season now, But I heard they are suspened so it will make it a little tougher to catch. Gonna try Rocky pond maybe sometime this week. Quote

Ya I was fishing it fast to slow rolling yesterday in my little happy pond with nothing. Going to try it some more on lunch today as well as a blue/black jig with a short grub trailer. I am still trying to figure out what the heck these things are going for this time of year. Guy at my work whom is a fishing nut has been using GYM Ika's in green or black and doing fairly decent. Only color I have in them is red and havn't had any luck. He was stating to me now is the time to be running lipless cranks, spinnerbaits and jig and pigs. He always ditches the senko's this time of year. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 crank the minikings as slow as posable. you should feel the rocks and be pulling out some weeds if your doing it right. Quote
unhbass37 Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 I wonder how these COLD nights is gonna effect the fishing. Larry better put his winter coat on. Only 40's to low 50's rest of the week. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 havent been out since sunday, but the fishing was good last weekend. fish were fat. derek, you make it to otternick yet? Quote
unhbass37 Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 No not yet and have not been out in a while now anywhere. I feel these very cold nights would kill the bite in the AM. You need to go in the late afternoon now.I just heard snow showers tonight. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 .I just heard snow showers tonight. nooooooooooooooo!!! i wont have my seat mounts until monday anyways(d**n bass pro shop, 3 day shipping my a**). sitting on the benches is very uncomfortable. im also trying to find a nice mount to put my trolling motor on the front too that wont look like crap. suppossed to be 56* on monday and 60* on tuesday. unhbass37 Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 You should of drove to Foxboro. It's not far and they have everything there. That place is just awesome. Hopefully we will see some 60's by mid week. Quote
catchbig0bass Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 nashuafisherman- got out today on lunch with the strike king mini- king blue / black colorado blade. threw it out and just ever so slowly ran it back to me stopping after every thud of a branch and bam got my self a lil ol' bass haha. Throwing senko's produced nothing so thumbs up to these little spinner baits. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 sounds like you have the technique down. Quote
unhbass37 Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 Looks like a complete wash out for the weekend with rain and cold temps (40's) and high winds. Next decent day looks like Tuesday with sun and 60's. Quote
