catchbig0bass Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Robinson is way too heavily fished and has been that way for years. There is still some decent bass in their however. If you go straight out from the launch and curve to the left and head back to that back corner where its the inlet to the marshy area, thats where I have had the best luck and seen huge ones jumping. unhbass37 Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Maybe, But I think I'll stick to a place that has more then a few big bass. Honestly I just don't see it. I have pounded that place and never caught anything larger then a pound and a half. It's a good spot to take the kids though for numbers. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 baboosicbass08 Where road is Melendy Pond on? I took a ride today with my son and we could not find it. Thanks Derek Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 baboosicbass08 Where road is Melendy Pond on? I took a ride today with my son and we could not find it. Thanks Derek I was curious also. I fired it into goole and it looks like its at the intersection of Old Milford Road and Route 13. Just a bit northwest of Rocky Pond. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Ya I just did the same. I have a feeling I just did not go far enough on 13. If baboosicbass08 does not chime in, I'm sure Nashua Fisherman will know. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Yea it's off of Route 13 on Old Milford Road, you may not have gone far enough down 13 if you didn't see old milford rd, if you're coming from milford the road will be on your left. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 caught my first top water bass tonight. missed one on a jitterbug but got one on a heddon torpedo. definetly a rush. only fished for about 45 minutes untill the mosquito's got the best of me. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 Nice one. Looks like a good 2 pounder or more? Check your PM's Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 didnt weigh him but he was definetly over a pound and a half. fish were jumping everywhere but i couldnt get there interest for the most part. i hate shore fishing. Quote
catchbig0bass Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Nashua fisherman- Nice fish. def topwater is a lot of fun. I absolutly love the heddon torpedo's, I have the mini and I want to go grab a larger one if I can find one. The jitterbugs that are larger and jointed also are a big plus in my book. Caught 2 nights ago a nice 2lber on a black jointed jitter. Also I can't believe it I just order 70 *** from *** all shipped for just under 20$, GYM senko's for that amount would have costed me roughly 47$ or so. Can't wait for them to come in. Hope I got the better ones, got the 4" instead of the 5". Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Nice fish nashuafisherman! Topwater is my favorite way to get em, although I'm not having nearly enough luck with it as I was at this time last year, working nights now I miss out on the topwater bite alot as I find it tough to get up that early in the morning, but I am going to start to try to give it another try. unhbass37 Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Got out this morning for 3hrs and caught only 4. Caught 3lbs 11oz and a 1lbs 15oz and a couple of little fellas. Bite was really slow and the water was very murky. On the 3lbs 11oz check out how little I had the hook on his lip, I was luck on this one. Quote

How are you rigging that? Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Texas Rigging and a 3/0 Skip Gap hook by Gamakatsu 5" blk/blu senkos. Quote
spin king Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I texas rig also, but I use the extra wide gap gamakatsus. Is there any advantage to the extra jog in the shank? Quote
jaystraw Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I texas rig also, but I use the extra wide gap gamakatsus. Is there any advantage to the extra jog in the shank? not to butt in, but....It just helps hold the senko on. The EWG's work just as good. I use both, but prefer the EWG. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 I use only the skip gap, I just like the way it keeps the worm up on the hook. But like Jay said they both will work. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 Anyone get out this weekend? I went out late today and caught 4 bass. Biggest was only 1lbs 10oz. Quote
catchbig0bass Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I use only the skip gap, I just like the way it keeps the worm up on the hook. But like Jay said they both will work. I have bought a few packs of the skip gap hooks and def like how they hold the senko's on better especially when throwing into heavy cover and slop. A lot of times with EWG's I would have my senko sitting at the bottom of my hook after pulling it out of junk much like a real worm would be hooked, not so with the skip gap, def worth trying out. Quote
spin king Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Thanks for the input on the skip gap hooks guys. I didn't intend to hijack the thread. So, I went out last Friday for about 2 hours and caught a few. I caught a couple LM 19" long. My scale battery decided to die, so I'm not sure how much they weighed...maybe 3 lbs? All were caught on 5" senkos in watermelon w/ black and green pumpkin w/black. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 No, you didn't hijack the thread. We here are always happy to share any info we can. Where did you catch the fish? Quote
Super User Shane J Posted July 27, 2009 Super User Posted July 27, 2009 Had a little luck this weekend, too. I camped and fished on Turkey pond in Concord, and Sunday morning I was on a bunch of bass, including a couple 2 1/2 lbers, and 2 around 4 lbs. The big ones came at 5 am on a Rage Tail shad, black neon. I haven't been throwing my old comfort bait, the green pumpkin Senko, but replaced it with a double header Anaconda, dipped in JJ's Majic (chart), and the bass went nuts for me this weekend. Also had my first run in ever with Fish and Game, but all is good with the Nitro, so a couple of nice guys. Glad to hear you all are havin' some luck around here, too. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Got out tonight at Horseshoe pond in Merrimack an caught 4 Bass. Fishing there is very tough due to it gets ALOT of pressure. I was one of 3 boats out there on that small pond. I am just happy I did not get skunked. Biggest was a whopping 1lbs 4oz and the smallest well you will see from the pictures LOL. Those little guys make me laugh, But they have to eat to. Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Nice job UNH. I was thinking of trying Horshoe to mix it up a bit but I may reconsider if it gets that much pressure. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Thanks. If you do try it. Go early mornings and never on a weekend. Quote
