NHfroggin Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Thanks unh, i will probably be there tomorrow morning bright and early, i will focus on the drop offs, maybee carolina rig a brush hog or something, the heat may be driving them deeper too. -matt- Quote
catchbig0bass Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 From what I am gathering they are still in the shallows. I also found that I was having better luck with lighter colored senko's yesterday. Not sure the color but its silver with black and silver flake. Once I switched from a dark pumpkin black to that I started getting a lot more bites. Hope this gives some kind of insight. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 Went out today with Nashua Fishman to a pond we found on the road and we killed them there. Not sure how many we caught between the two of us but we did very well. Many thanks to him also. Great day of fishing. Here are some pictures. One is 5lbs 8oz and the other is 5lbs 4oz. Some times it pays to stop on a side of a road to check out a place. LOL ;D ;D Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 it was definetly a good time. one of the best trips ive had in a while. you are a fishing machine!!! now, if i can only remember how we got there. Quote
NHfroggin Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Nice fish UNH!! i got out today to mill pond, i caught three bass and a couple pickerel, bass were around 2 pounds. All fish were caught off points in deeper water, it seems like the milfoil is getting worse everyday. has anyone fished otternic pond or robbinson pond? -matt- Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 the launch at otternic has been blocked off for over a month(you can still carry a canoe in). they are treating it for fanwart, an invasive plant. my niebor caught a bunch of fish yesterday at robinson but nothing big. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 Just what Nashua Fisherman said, I have never fished otternic, But have at Robinson, There are bass there, But so far for me anyway nothing over 1 1/2 pounds. Also I took my son there the other day and the milfoil is getting thick there. Quote
NHfroggin Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Thanks Nashua and UNH i might try robinson tommorow morning. -matt- Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 Matt just to let you know it's a good size pond and is fished heavy due to it's location. I would make sure you get there early as the locals will be dumping there bass boats in there. I usually take the tracker, But you will get around fine in the canoe also. Also bring the anchor it can get windy out there. Another tip throw those Senkos by the lilly pads. You can just TR them. Good luck and have fun! Quote
NHfroggin Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Ok thanks UNH i might hold off untill monday maybee there will be less people. -matt- Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 Weekdays are best. You should have it all to yourself. Quote

unhbass37 Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 Thanks baboosicbass08 Got out today and caught seven bass, Three is which were over 3 pounds. Most all were over 1lbs What a great weekend this has been. All fish were caught on senkos. Love those worms. ;D Here are some picture of the 3 pounders. And YES all fish were caught TODAY. No reposts. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 like i said, you are a fishing machine!!! we need to fish together more so i can figure out what your doing. Quote
NHfroggin Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Nice fish UNH, i agree with Nashua you are a fishing machine, we fish the same pond, i pull out a couple dinks you pull out 5 pounders :) haha -matt- Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 Anytime Nashua Fisherman you want to go just let me know. You saw what I was doing I don't hide nothing. I want to see more people catching big fish thats why I try to offer anything I have learned. Good luck to everyone the rest of the weekend. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 Thanks Matt. Keep fishing Mill Pond. Like I told you there are alot of big fish there. I was talking to a guy out there today who said he caught a four pounder the same time I was there. The milfoil is very heavy now I agree, But try to find any hole you can find and throw a senko in it (My color choice has been BLK/BLUE or BLK/PURPLE). That truly has been my killer bait. Nashua Fisherman will verify. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 unhbass used BLK/BLUE and BLK/PURPLE senko's the whole day we were out fishing. i was using some cheap senko knockoffs in all different colors and he caught more and bigger fish. it seemed like he had more strikes also. now, i didnt beleive color matters that much before this, not sure i do now, but im definetly picking up some BLK/BLUE and BLK/PURPLE senko's next time i go to sports authority. i wouldnt call two 5+ pound bass in one day luck. baboosicbass08 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Got out to melendy pond in brookline for about an hour and a half managed to land one bass and lost what felt like a freight train at the other end of the line at the end of the night, good thing it's a small pond, I will definately be back there the next chance I get. Heres the fish I landed Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 You are on a SERIOUS roll UNH. I only got out once this weekend. I went to Robinson and caught 7. Nothing as big as the monsters you pulled out though. Congrats on those fish. Im living vicariously though your pictures. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 baboosicbass08 Nice Fish. Is there alot of cover there? Thanks SausageFingers23 I did not get out yesterday I had a family party to attend. Quote
catchbig0bass Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Ended up going out last night for a few hrs at my little private spot. Caught 3 small under 1lb and 1 2.5lb on a jitterbug. Man I love top water its def a lot of fun. Notice right at dusk I have the best luck with a good old jitterbug. Tried using a popper for a while with no luck what so ever. Earlier in the day was throwing dark red and green with red flake seno's and was having really good luck. The black / purple. black / blue always does really well. I dont know what it is about dark colored but the fish love em. UNH def found the trick this time of year. Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Went to Robinson Pond tonight and caught 10 Bass, But I think I caught every little bass in that pond. I now believe if there are any big bass there are only a few. There was a two other bass boats out there and they said the same. I think it's now time to retire that place. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Thanks unh, there was quite a bit of weeds in some areas of the pond and it gets kinda shallow in some areas, but towards the back end of it if youre standing at the launch facing straight out all the way to the other side of the pond there's a bunch of docks back there which is where I was getting quite a few hits and I got that big hit. I was out there this past weekend and caught good numbers but they were small. I shouldnt really complain though. I'd rather be catching something than getting skunked. Quote
