nashua fisherman Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 5 more from the new spot in less than an hour. cute little buggers, nothing worth photographing though. Quote
kayakbill Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 You guys need to get the clarks fishing guide book.Tons of info on every nh bass lake and river 8-) Quote
nashua fisherman Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 i have the clarks book. it doesnt have everything. we really like fishing smaller bodies of water. if you look at google maps youll see there are small ponds eveywhere. we like to adventure. heading to stevens pond in manchester today. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 I got it to and I agree everything is not on there. Plus it was printed in 2003. I may head out to stevens pond also around 1pm so I may see you there. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 we went to stevens pond and my wife caught a couple pickeral under the bridges. we fished the shore and had a few bites but never hooked up. stevens pond has lots of pads and grass, just like we like. afterwards me and the wife headed to nutts pond and each caught a bass. my wifes bass was just under two pounds(looked bigger, need to check scale). mine was smaller. i had one come off at the boat. anyways, it was nice going out and exploring new waters even though it was rainy and windy. we will definetly go back to these ponds. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 Did you bring you fish finder to Nutts? I was wondering how deep it was? I did check it out about a month ago from the shore and it looked good besides all the baseball game traffic. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 we didnt bring the fish finder. there is a cove to the left of the launch that looks real good but it is too shallow. my wife caught hers to the right of there. i caught mine towards the back. by the time we reached the back of the pond it was time to leave so we drove the boat right through the midle to the launch. i threw a dt-6 and the wife threw a spinnerbait but didnt have any luck. judging from our anchore rope there are spots 30' from shore that are around 15' deep. we just fished the pads ands shoreline before we ran out of time. unhbass37 Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 Thanks. I may take the tracker there. Glad to hear there are bass in there. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 went to "new secret spot" and locust pond in tyngsboro today. wife caught 3 bass at the first spot and 3 more pluss a pickeral at the second. i caught two bass. nothing big. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Took my youngest son out today and this is his first bass of the year. 4lbs 11oz. She was a beauty. He did most of it himself till she spun the boat around he got scared and I gave him a little help. I was very proud of him. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 No. We went to the river. It was his first try with senkos to. We did not stay long as he was cold so it was a short trip, but a good one. Quote
catchbig0bass Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 What a catch for a first timer. To all: I have been trying to figure out what the heck the fish are doing. In talking with a guy at my work whom was a big bass tournament guy for years was saying to be fishing slow and deep, senkos and such. Or Topwater for the next month or so would be prime. He was stating that the males are on the beds hanging out on the hatch while the females have migrated to lower waters. What do you guys think? Im thinking to start working my poppers and jitterbugs more. The past week in talking to people at boat launches and so forth people are nailing them on poppers. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Thanks, But he is no first timer. He goes out alot after school is out for the year. He catches more then me most days. He usually is a crankbait kid, But I talked him into the Senko and he was happy I did. LOL Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 You would not beleive this, But my oldest asked to fishing tonight and I said sure so off we went. He usually does not like to go. Well he caught a HAWG this was 5lbs 7oz with a Jig. This one was done all by himself (He is 12 years old). I have never had such a good day fishing with the family. This was his personal best. Quote
catchbig0bass Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 UNHbass37 - thats great that your kids like to fish. And d**n I am getting more and more depressed by the day not catching anything big. I guess thats why a boat is helpful Quote
lilfish Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Caught my personal best today. My previous PB was 6lb 4oz . I was out in stream that runs through my back yard and this one slurrped down a Stanley ribbit. Not too often you get one this big in Southern NH. I was using my travel set up Daiwa Advantage 2pc 6'6" MH, Pinnacle Matrix 35 reel . It was safely released Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 Nice. I'm still after the 7 pounder in the Nashua river. There are some in there from what I'm told if my kids don't catch them before me. LOL Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 lilfish how do you like the lipper scale. I'm thinking of getting one. The hook style is tough to weigh the big ones? Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 Caught this nice 2lbs 0oz today. Not as big as the boys, But I'll take it. They said Dad thats a little fella. :-[ Quote
lilfish Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 lilfish how do you like the lipper scale. I'm thinking of getting one. The hook style is tough to weigh the big ones? It works great just make sure the battery is good before you go out and find out its dead. I had to change out the battery today before I got to weigh the fish luckily I was fishing behind my house. In hind sight I think I would go with I nice mechanical scale such as Bogas. For now I'll just keep a fresh battery in the tackle box Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 WOW! Now that is a BIG fish congrats on the new pb thats one to be proud of for sure lilfish. Quote
