unhbass37 Posted June 3, 2010 Author Posted June 3, 2010 Good to see you back on the water Baboosic. Finally finished that video from my 120 bass day. Definitely one of the best days I've ever had on the water. Awesome Chuck. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 5, 2010 Author Posted June 5, 2010 Well I was able to get out to Big Island Pond today and I did well for the first time out there on big water. I caught around 13 bass. I actually lost count so it could of been more. All bass were over 1.5 also which was nice. Biggest was 2lbs 9oz. Here are the pictures of the 2 pounders. I must say that is a beautiful pond. Well worth the 25 bucks IMO. I only problem I see there is it get heavily fished. When I pulled in there were already 6 boats out there, Not counting the locals. Quote
wagn Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Nice Job UNH. Glad you got into the fish. And thanks for the compliments everyone on my 120 Bass vid. I also wanted to state that all 120 Bass were caught on plastics from ***. Mostly trick worms, but also a couple of other baits Quote
nashua fisherman Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 good job everybody!!!. we went to the concord river again and caught 2 bass, a perch, a crappie, and MY first nothern pike. i caught him trolling with a shallow babybass crankbait on the way back to the launch. this is the first time in a long time that i actualy outfished my wife. all she caught was a bluegill on a spinnerbait. i lost a BIG perch at the boat. derek, you need to get your mass liscence. i heard there are some 6-7# bass in there. theres suppossed to be a hotspot about 2 miles south of the launch. unhbass37 Posted June 5, 2010 Author Posted June 5, 2010 I will get it this week. It was nice to fish from my tracker I must say. I'll give you call when I can get out again. Quote
bwillis Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I managed to get out to Horseshoe Pond in Concord for about an hour before work today, had a couple nibbles that were probably pickerel as well as a nice sunburn on my neck, but that was about it. I'm in Portsmouth all weekend for military duty, but hopefully I can get out Sunday afternoon if the weather clears. Quote
228TO603 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I'm going to get out at daybreak tomorrow and do some bank fishing ? What is the best spot Bedford/Amherst?Manchester area? Isnt there a pond in the park across from the Puritan restaurant in Manchester that holds fish ? Quote

SaltyUSMC Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Has anyone fished in that small pond off of Spit brook access rd (leading to BAE systems) off exit 1 in Nashua? Havent been there yet, but im assuming it's a no-go... Quote
SaltyUSMC Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Nice forum you have here. I live in Nashua off exit 7E near concord st. If anyone near there is into serious adventure-shore fishing send me a PM. I get pretty ridiculous with searching for new areas. I just recently picked up fishing again, used to fish when I was young at Wyman's beach in Westford :\. I grew up in Lowell, and spent a 4 year enlistment in North Carolina, so Im still new to the Nashua area. I own a nice speed boat, w/ a 150hp outboard but nothing for the kind of fishing I am into (ponds, rivers). Hopefully in july I'll pick up a small pelican or radisson canoe. And when I come back from this months vacation Im going to grab a set of waders and really get into it. So far I've been River fishing near the fire station in merrimack, caught a few there aswell as fell into a sandhole and destroyed my droid phone Havent caught anything at the Horseshoe pond, but from the looks of it, if you dont have a boat it's pretty much useless to fish there. Same goes for the round pond off of Amherst st. Im walking distance from pennichuck, but I have a clean record and from what I hear, you can catch some pretty nasty heat if you get caught. Fished off of Tinker rd bridge there, but Im thoroughly convinced there are ZERO fish in that water. Caught several bass, a pickerel, perch, turtles, gibbs at Mines falls, along the canal. SMB and river shiners out of the rapids, south of the dam (near the boat ramp). Quote

Havent caught anything at the Horseshoe pond, but from the looks of it, if you dont have a boat it's pretty much useless to fish there. Same goes for the round pond off of Amherst st. dont waste your time at horseshoe. weve got skunked the last few times we were there. theres carp in there too. round isnt much better but weve caught bass, pickeral and sunfish there. nashua fisherman Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 went fishing with my father-inlaw saturday at a small farm pond and we caught 30 bass. it was windy so i was on the trolling motor the whole 2hours we were there. nothing big, but the action was non stop. biggest fish was 1.14. Quote
bwillis Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I stopped at Freese's Pond where it crosses under rte 107 for about 40 minutes earlier, landed 5 LMB and had another that was at least 5 lbs break off and flop back into the water before I could grab him. Biggest fish was 4.38lbs, and the rest were all over 2lbs. All fish were caught on a baby brush hog on a black 1/8oz spot remover. Quote

Maybe Freese's Pond? Pleasant Lake never goes under 107 that I know of. Quote
bwillis Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Thanks, it is Freese's Pond. I've never looked at it on a map, I just assumed it was Pleasant Lake cuz it's right around there. Quote
spin king Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Pleasant lake is pretty good to fish also. I always thought freese's looked good, but never tried it. I'll have to stop by. Nice fish, by the way. Quote
