unhbass37 Posted April 2, 2010 Author Posted April 2, 2010 You guys are starting out like I did last year. These last 3 times out I have got skunked. Any tips to get me back on track. I killed last year with Senkos and Jigs, But they don't seem to be working so far this year. > Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 2, 2010 Super User Posted April 2, 2010 lipless cranks and spinnerbaits for me, and shallow cranks for the pickerel > Quote
jaystraw Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Nice fish guys!! I got out today on my recently frozen favorite pond. Managed to catch a nice 2.5 pound smallie and a 4 pound pickeral. Not a ton of action with water in the 45 degree range, but it was still fun to be there. Quote
fmoore Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Caught one largemouth up shallow on wood Sunday, took this guy tonight: Quote
Super User Shane J Posted April 3, 2010 Super User Posted April 3, 2010 Today was great! Hit the Merrimack, and landed 15 smallies, and my buddy landed 5. Most productive pattern was right along shore, in warmer, shallower coves where the water was a lot warmer, and slowly swimming a split shotted Rage Eeliminator and a Tx rigged Rage Tail Smokin Rooster. It was awesome! Quote
sdcoll Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 hi everyone.......whats the word on contoocook lake (jaffery).....is it a waste of time ,there not much info availble other the theres lakers in the main body of water , also went to hubbard pond (annette state park ) but the road wasnt open yet,,,,was there any issues with the dam? im new to fishing this area...mainly looking for smallies and pike but im not fussy ill take anything that bites... 8-) Quote
eloo Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Nice looking fish! Had a good day on Turee Pond today. Caught 5 LMB and 5 Pickerel in between 5-6:30 PM. The largest bass were between 2.5 and 3 pounds. I was throwing a Stanley itzaBug t-rigged with a 1/8 ounce worm weight. I only had two of the baits with me and by the end of the night they were pretty torn up. Great to be fishing again! Quote
wagn Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 fmoore...that smallie a football. Nice job. I'm hoping to get out this upcoming thursday as well. Quote
bwillis Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 I've been out to horseshoe pond and the merrimack by the tech a few times and haven't caught a thing. I've only had a few short outings though. I think once I have some more time, I'll start catching them. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 went to flints pond in hollis yesterday afternoon and caught a small bass. wife caught a 2.1lb pickeral. went back out to locust pond in tyngsboro and caught 2 small bass and a pickeral. wife caught a pickeral too. Quote
jaystraw Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Hey everybody. Happy Easter! I could not get out today, but I did go out for a few hours at Gile Pond in Sutton yesterday. Water temps were in the mid 50's, but I could not find any fish that were biting. Hope y'all had a good weekend! Quote
NHBassfishing Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Got out to Little Island Pond in Pelham on Saturday and had an ok day.. We were fishing by 9 and nothing till about 2pm.. After that we finally found them or they got hungry.. I pulled up one nice LM and then 2 small dinks.. And not to forget the 2 pickerel as well.. Quote
Nixstyx Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Hey everyone. I've kind of been lurking around this thread for a while reading, but not posting. So I suppose I'll introduce myself. I'm Nick, and I've only been bass fishing for about 2 years now but I'm definitly hooked. Went out Saturday with my buddy to Potanipo but didn't get so much as a nibble over 6 hours. Decided to stop by the Mill Pond area on our way back and I caught this beauty in the canal right behind the high school (hopefully the quality holds up, it was taken on a cell phone camera). Wasn't expecting any real action there so I left my scale behind. A darn shame, but I'd guestimate 4-5 lbs. Reguardless of actual weight it's a personal best for this bass fishing rookie. Hopefully more to come. By the way, thanks for all the helpful tips I've picked up over the time I've been lurking. ;D Quote
unhbass37 Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 Nice fish. What did you catch it on? I fish there alot and there are some pigs in there, But it does get a ton of pressure. I have seen as many as 5 boats out there on that little pond. The way the weather has been the milfoil will ruin it shortly. > Quote

I'm in the same boat as you, But I did go out with Nashua Fisherman and caught some pickerel, Not the best but it was something. I hope things pick up soon. I still have not caught one bass yet this year. I went from killing them last year to them killing me now > Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Nice fish NixStyx! Welcome aboard. Like UNH said, the Mill Pond is decent but it gets swallowed up quick with fishing pressure and millfoil. Looks like you landed that one on a brush hawg. I've had a couple this season on the *** version of that. They are an excellent bait to texas rig and pitch into cover. They'll work well on the Mill Pond. Quote

llPa1nll Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Hey guys, Thoughts I'd chime in here. I have been out 2 days and one half day outing. My fish count stands at 38 LM and 3 SM. Large percentage of my fish have been on fast moving lures, jerkbaits, crankbaits, traps. 3lb LM was on a jig and 2lb SM was on small soft plastics. Good luck and tight lines all. Quote
Nixstyx Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Thanks everyone. And good eye SausageFigers, that is indeed a Texas-rigged Zoom Brush Hog. On another note, in general, how deep are you finding the fish right now? (if you're finding them that is) I wasn't sure where exactly to look last weekend. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 got out to robinson and otternic in hudson toady with the wife. she caught a pickeral and i got skunked at robinson. i caught two bass just under 2#'s and a pickeral at otternic. wife caught a bunch of pickeral, one just under 2#'s. caught a couple small bass with unhbass at flints pond in hollis saturday. he is the "pickeral master"!!! got a few small bass at locust pond friday and one at flints in hollis. everything caught on spinnerbaits. SausageFingers23 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 On another note, in general, how deep are you finding the fish right now? (if you're finding them that is) I wasn't sure where exactly to look last weekend. I've been finding them in about 6-8 feet of water, just on the edge of the shallower areas. I think they're getting ready to move up but are still hanging out on the depth breaks. I have caught a couple smaller ones that were up in under 3 feet of water, but that hasnt been the norm. Quote
NH_Bass_Tard Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Here's another NH vid. This one was released like 10 days before Granite State of Mind. It's not as good, but it still kinda funny: Also, me and my dad got out on saturday for like 2 hours, and all I got was one bite, and my dad caught 2 LM that were about 2lbs a piece. I still have yet to catch one in three outings. Quote
wagn Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Hey guys,Thoughts I'd chime in here. 38 already? That's crazy. It's also funny cause I can't buy a bite on a moving bait. It's been jigs or worms only for me. But my water temps are probably still colder then where you are. I'm hoping the jerkbait and crankbaits bite picks up soon. Quote
