nashua fisherman Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 got out to lake winipisauki(?) today for a few hours in moultonborough(?). me and my neibor are going to be doing some cottage repairs in exchange for a weekend at the cottage. anyways, we had no clues where to start but we hit a couple isalnds and some spots with tall grass in the water and altogether we caught around 14 fish. i caught the biggest bass(1.7) and the biggest pickeral(1.7). my neighbor caught the most fish(6) and the lady who owns the cottage's son caught 4. the top guide was chipped on his rod and he lost the first 4 fish due to it cutting the line. this was more of a search mission using spinnerbaits, but we will be heading out for a weekend soon. it anybody knows where the big fish are on the north side of the lake please post and let me know. baboosicbass08 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Thats pretty neat nashuafisherman, good luck up there! I went out today with a friend for about an hour and a half at Melendy pond in brookline again and managed to get 3. Nothing really big but it sure was great to get out again. Heres pics of two of them: Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 Nice job baboosicbass08. Glad to see you got out there. I will be back at it this week. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Thanks unh. Got out to melendy again today for a bit and did pretty well the fish seem to be getting bigger there . Did manage to get stuck by one of the bass' dorsal fin, now my little finger is bigger than my thumb. I'll be hoping to get back out there tomorrow early morning to see if I can get some topwater action going. Here's a few from today: Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 I'm sure there is a 5 pounder in there somewhere. They look like they are getting bigger. Nice Fish and good luck tommorow. Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Went out with my youngest son today and he caught a 2 bass at Mill with a bobber and a worm. He just wanted to shore fish today. He wanted to get out again before school starts. Here is a picture. Look how matted the milfoil is now. Quote
NHfroggin Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Nice fish baboosicbass08! UNH that milfoil has gotten alot worse I'm surprised it's still fishable :-/ -matt- Quote
catchbig0bass Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 UNH - havn't been over to mill pond in over a month and very shocked at how thick the millfoil is over there this time of yr. Thats crazy. Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Wow. The millfoil is blanketing the surface. I havent fished in there in about 2 months now because of it. The water levels in the places I've fished in the last couple of weeks have been down a bit. That probably has something to do with why so much is visible at the surface now. Im actually hoping for a solid rain to stabilize the water levels. Looks like everyone has been relatively successful lately. Thats great to see. Here's to everyones continued success on the water...... Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 Ya it really bad, Pretty much unfishable. My son just wanted to catch bluegills, But ended up getting a couple of bass. I got out today at Great pond and only was able to manage 2 bass in 3 hrs. Wind was very strong and made it tough to fish. I look at it this way 2 is better then 0 . Biggest was only 1 lbs 8 oz. No pictures sorry. Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 Got out again today for the 2nd time and caught 7 LMB. Biggest was a nice 5 lbs 6 oz. She was a beauty. Loving those trick sticks (Thanks bassmaster 6). 8-) Glad that zebco mono line held up. Here she is. Sorry for the bad picture, But I forgot my digital camera in the tracker. Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Got out today with Nashua Fisherman at Great Pond. Fishing was very slow, But we still managed to catch a few. Fun day none the less. Here is a picture on one of his. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 thanks for taking me on your tratcker. that thing is awsome!!! looks like the rest of the weekend is going to be a washout, wich sucks 'cause i still got alot of fishing in me. Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 I just checked the weather and tommorow is gonna be nice. Check you PM's Quote
nashua fisherman Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 me and my son went to robinson tonight after the rain stoped. sure was windy and choppy. water temp has gone from 81* last week to 70* today. we each caught bass and i also caught a good sized sunfish on a senko. it was nice having the pond to ourselves but the wind made it a little frustrating. unhbass, just a heads up, my boat has a slow leak where the transome meets the floor. i ran out of the good sealant so i put some "shoe goop" on it for now. should be ok for tomorow. Nashua-River-Rat Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Anyone been fishing the river between Mines Falls and Hollis? I have been there everyday for the last week and have done real well. I have caught about 25-30 LMB in the past week and all were on culprit red shad rubbers. I have been using my red rubbers all summer mostly and it's working out great. My father got a 5.5lb LMB (pic below) across from the broad st ramp on Wednesday and I lost an even bigger one two nights ago just down river from there. The fish are much more active in the river these days and I have been there everyday because of it. I plan to go either to Potanipo or Musquash today. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 i wouldnt bother with musquash. i doubt its even fishable this time of year with all the lilypads. my wife caught a bass there in april though. Quote
nashua fisherman Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 got out twice today. once with unhbass and later with my wife. me and unhbass caught a few bass and pickeral but no lunkers. my wife caught her first smallmouth today in the merrimack river. it was only 14oz, but it put up a good fight. heres a pic; Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 Congrats Ann. I also got back out again and went to the Nashua river and only managed one LMB. There were five boats out there that I saw and fishing was TOUGH, But atleast I did not get skunked. I am not a big fan of that river, But it is close. Here is the whopper I caught. 1 lbs 7 oz. :-[ Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 Nashua Fisherman I will be in touch about the Merrimack. We will take the tracker. Fridays are good for you right? Quote
nashua fisherman Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 fridays are good for me. it took forever in my boat to go any distance up river. the water is high again and the current was swift so we never made it to the hot spot. Quote
Nashua-River-Rat Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Went out to Musquash Sunday. Fish were jumping all over the place, BUT didn't catch much. I tried every bait I could think of. Managed to pull in a 2lb LMB and a 20" Pickerel. They were caught on red worm. The lily pads were think, but there was many breaks in between in some spots. After the rains the other day the fishing was not all that great. Anyone aware of the open water pond hidden in the back of Musquash? It's usually very clear and black. Sunday it was very murky. The rain probably ruined it. It doesn't take much to get murky in there considering the swamp surrounding it. 6 weeks ago we pulled in 15 fish in a 2 hr span. 13 were LMB and 2 monster pickerel. That was probably a one time thing. Every time I go back I get next to nothing. Quote
unhbass37 Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 Musquash is on it's last legs as far as fishery. Nashua Fisherman has been there and knows quite a bit about it. I'm sure he will chime in later. Quote

Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 Nice deal. I got the video and it sounds nice. Good Luck Tommorow. I got out tonight at Mill and caught 2 bass. Biggest was this nice 4 lbs 12oz beauty. I am glad I still can catch them there even though the milfoil is real bad. She was in 13 ft out water. Here is a picture. Quote
