krisjack69 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I jus go some 2 inch senko's and wondering what would be the best hook to use. Quote
Pigsticker Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 wacky rigged with a 1 size straight shank hook or even smaller or nosed hooked on a drop shot rig Quote
detroit1 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I tried this last year. Found an old crawler harness at the ramp. Wacky-rigged those 2" senko-type worms on all three hooks and sent it flying to my favorite mid-lake hump (14'/25'), and sat down to eat my lunch. About 4 bites into my sandwich, i looked up and noticed.... just kidding. I would dropshot them also. Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Yeah I'm pretty sure those are for dropshotting. Quote
bassfanatick Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Hi Kris and hope I can help, you can go to Lowes in the plumming section and find the rubber o-rings to thread onto the worm. Next get a pack of Gamakatsu size 4 splitshot hooks, try it its great Quote
ohiobassmaster93 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 those are dropshot worms....i like to use the 3" ones Quote
moby bass Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I picked up a bunch of 2" size in various colors at Cabelas in their clearance bin. I've been wondering how to use them. Any reason why they wouldn't work under a float? Quote
bighed Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Those are great for dropshotting and have not always been very available in the US. My first experience with them was with respected Lake Fork guide Jimmy Everett a few years ago. I asked for some dropshot tutoring and that's what he pulled out. I remember they were watermellon and I was shocked when he started dipping about 1/8" of the tail in Spike It. I mean, what difference could Spike It make on such a tiny lure! He explained that he got started guideing working for the Axton's who had a lodge on the lake. Mrs. Axton was a Japanese lady and her and her husband marketed trips on Fork to Japanese customers. He was the guide that often took them out and he learned alot about finesse fishing from them. The 2" senko was one of those things they brought with them. That day with Jimmy I caught one about 21" and broke off another larger fish and have been using them since. Quote
