riverfisher Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Place was great a few years ago before the Lake Assoc decided to sonar the whole place. Sparce weed's and the ones that held on look pretty ratty. I live 15 minutes from the launch its a good place to go and fish with my kids, we catch alot of numbers but and the occasional biggin. As for helpful hints all the usual suspect's work in toga. Quote
K.Fox Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Lake George is the same thing. Fish in numbers but most are 12in. Has amazing scenery though... Do it right stay in Ticonderoga fish Champlain. If you get bored. Fish George the next day... Quote

Cujo Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Place was great a few years ago before the Lake Assoc decided to sonar the whole place. Sparce weed's and the ones that held on look pretty ratty. I live 15 minutes from the launch its a good place to go and fish with my kids, we catch alot of numbers but and the occasional biggin. As for helpful hints all the usual suspect's work in toga. the place was filled with an invasive species, Eurasian watermilfoil. They did not use Sonar, they used Renovate which is very effective at controlling this plant while not effecting most natives. The lake would be much better if native plants where able to become established and out compete invasive plants for are not good the ecosystem of the lake. The fishing will improve. It's matter of changing the game plan to finding the bigger fish. They are there, you just have to look for them. Quote
