central.PA.bass Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Is anyone going to this? I will probably go up for a weekend just because I always do.. I never seem to find many real good deals on anything though.. Quote
boatnik13 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Years ago and I mean yeeeears ago , you could find many local tackle / hunting mom & pop shops at the show. Today its just a handfull. A single space is like $900 and up. All you see today are out of State and our big State preserves. If your looking for the small local then for a couple of dollars and free parking > go to the small local shows. Feb.5th I'll be at the Leesport show ( near Hamburg Pa ) with my lake maps. I think this weekend Dillsburg has a show, Also check out > www.fishermanfleamarkets.com Quote
central.PA.bass Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 Thanks a lot! Yeah it seems like all you see there is just big vendors and no small businesses. I'd rather give my money to a local or small mom and pop shop than a big corporation.. I'm checkin that website out right now Quote

Hot Rod Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Last time I went to the PA Sportsman Show I dropped about $20K on a boat that was in '06. I don't know why but my wife has forbidden me to go back ;D Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Any reports on the show this past weekend? I was thinking about going up, but do not see very many legitimate tackle vendors listed on their website. I don't want to make the 3hr drive if it sucks... Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 8, 2011 Super User Posted February 8, 2011 I wasn't impressed. The only thing I bought all day was a $3 bottle of Diet Pepsi and a framed butterfly for the wife. Nice excuse to get out of the house, but I dont know about a 3 hr drive to get there. One positive note from Saturday. When you take the shuttle from BPS to the show, they give you a coupon for 20% off one item. That could be worth it if you play your cards right. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Thanks! Advice taken. Saving the gas. Quote

They were about the only ones with some decent tackle for sale. The Copenhagen girls were fun to look at. ;D Quote

X2 May catch the shuttle over from BPS though so at least if I strike out at the show I can find something to appease Bait Monkey back at BPS ;D Quote
