basshunter81 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I have in the past. What part of CT are you in? Quote
LunkerLust Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I shore fish a couple of local ponds (Shelton), but after traveling around the state looking for spots, I gave up and bought a canoe. Quote
Chris W. Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 I know a few good spots down here. Try north farms reservoir in wallingford. Awesome place, especially if you have a canoe. EVERYTHING is in there. Eels, carp, bass, i think catfish. You name it lol. Quote

Fairfield county and was told I do need a permit, but have never heard anyone get in trouble for not. Quote
Chris W. Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 To fish there, no. To fish at Lake saltonstall you need a permit though because it's a water source. Quote

Chris W. Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 no problem. fish the farmington too, bass & trout :-) Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I haven't shore fished in a while, but I used to do it almost every day for two years. One of the best things I ever did was do a scan of my area on google maps, and just went to random little ponds in the area to check them out. I found a few great ones, and I have probably 10 lakes/ponds within a 20 minute drive I can go anytime and catch bass. Shorefishing alone is one of my favorite activities. I need to do it more. Unfortunately, in the fall, it's very difficult to catch largemouth bass in ponds from the shore, although it is doable. Fish the accessible deeper holes/points slowly with dark jigs. Quote
