NateFollmer Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 Perry co. Little Buffalo State Park but I guess DCNR renamed it HOLMAN lake just like they did to Pinchot that was once called Conowego lake or somthing like that. I forgot about Holman. I used to fish it a lot when I lived in Newport for a year. Never fished it from a boat though, always from shore. Back in the sloppy swamp area, you can destroy the bass with frogs! Quote
BadKarma42 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 MEADOWGROUNDS! MEADOWGROUNDS! MEADOWGROUNDS! Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted July 22, 2010 Super User Posted July 22, 2010 Long Pine reminds you of a California lake. Deep, clear, spooky fish. Visibility of 20+ feet is the norm and fish are MIA this time of year. Not my recommendation. Quote
NateFollmer Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 I think ill let this poll open until monday then we will shut her down. We can pick a date after this poll. Quote
fishincop640 Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Hey Nate, I think Glendale, Flinton, PA should be added to the poll!! Peace for us central pa folk!! My fishing partner and I would defintely like to join a little get together as long as I have enough advanced notice to request off work. Raystown or Glendale would be my best bet.....Glendale has 20hp limit but is ideal for electric. Quote

I haven't been there yet and would like to fish it. I'll add it to the list. These last two lakes have a disadvantage being added late. Quote
oprcsr Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 If I could revote I'd throw a point down for Holman as well. Looks like Raystown is gonna win! Quote

Like I said before, I'm up for the Bass Resource PA Lake Tour... LOL I'm up for multiple trips so I don't care what wins. I just want everyone to get a chance to go... Guess I'm just a people pleaser Quote
fishincop640 Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 My fishing partner and I would be interested in glendale AND raystown. Quote
boatnik13 Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Raystown has more everything and that's what we want. Fishing to soon in these sleeper lakes could be poor with all this heatwave conditions now. Once the crowd leaves Raystown lake it becomes alive. These smaller lakes need some good rain. Quote
jake Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Raystown, Holman, Pinchot and Long Pine are my votes. Raystown in Oct....the rest anytime! Quote
fishn hard Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 If we do Raystown ill have a seat open if any one wants to fish out of a 100mph boat ;D ;D ;D Quote
NateFollmer Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 I'm staying I'm the no wake zone. haha I'll probably just use the electric motor the whole time. I find its more productive there to stay in one area vs. run and gun. But thats just me ha Quote
jake Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Our last tourney there the team that won never even put his boat on plane. They fished James creek all day. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted July 24, 2010 Super User Posted July 24, 2010 That is encouraging. I did Marburg not too long ago on TM only. It's a 1200 acre lake and we probably went to 3/4 of it. Never changed the 24volt in the front and changed the 12 volt rear one time. Quote
NateFollmer Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 Our last tourney there the team that won never even put his boat on plane. They fished James creek all day. james creek is one of the many areas that offers the best fishing. All you need to do at raystown is find a cove with a point, some cover and a feeder creek or creek channel and your golden. Quote
boatnik13 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I agree with nate on this one. Heck of a time trying to troll at 100 mph. Maybe the PA. T/P in the hammer lane down hill. Just kidding about the trolling. Quote
fishn hard Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 if we do raystown ill bring in a boat load ;D Quote

NateFollmer Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 Ok, I think Raystown wins. I'm going to kill this poll. What months are good for everyone? I'm full the end of Sept. but any week in Oct. I'm cool with. August and Nov. are open too, but I think Oct. is primetime for Raystown (stripers should be on fire then! and the LMB won't be too far behind). Quote
NateFollmer Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 Ok, here are some dates. If anyone absolutely cannot make any of these, we can remove them. I don't know of any other way to do this and keep it organized Quote
fishincop640 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Just need to know a bit in advance to request off of work. Quote
NateFollmer Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 Just need to know a bit in advance to request off of work. If we go in oct. Will that be enough time? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted July 27, 2010 Super User Posted July 27, 2010 October Saturdays are a no-go for me. That is archery season and I like to kill ****. ;D Quote
NateFollmer Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 October Saturdays are a no-go for me.That is archery season and I like to kill ****. ;D AH, I forgot about Archery... Looks like either one of the days in Sept. is going to win, or Sunday the 3rd. I'd rather go on a Sunday too, but I just want to fish and don't care what day it is! HA Edit: Took the Saturdays in Oct. out (I was the only one who voted for them anyway haha). Quote
