HudsonHawk Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Hi guys, Kinda new here....been peeking in and learning here and there, but need help identifying a fish my bro-in-law caught Monday eve in the Merrimack near the Nashua boat ramp. I've looked it up, but still not sure....what do you all think? I know...the pictures are not that clear.... Thanks in advance..... Quote
nashua fisherman Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 looks like a creek or river chub. my wife caught one yesterday at the nashua river. http://www.fish.state.pa.us/pafish/fishhtms/chap11.htm Quote
UPS VT Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I believe that is a fallfish, some people call them dace. Quote
HudsonHawk Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 That's the same fish alright.... I did find a site that had a picture of a fallfish also. Very close to the creek chub. Thanks for the pic....nice fish!! Quote
Super User Munkin Posted September 8, 2010 Super User Posted September 8, 2010 Nashua speckled trout. I need one about that size for an experiment. Allen Quote
NateFollmer Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I call those "Stupid fish that took my fly" when I'm fishing for trout... It's a fall fish. Chubs usually have a little more of a carp like mouth than a fall fish does. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 10, 2010 Super User Posted September 10, 2010 Fall fish for sure. The Merrimack is full of them, and they are a pain! Quote
NateFollmer Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I love how they kind of squeak when you're unhooking them haha. Quote
