CFFF 1.5 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 So I finally found a weekend to go to BPS and feed the bait monkey. I spent almost $100 on tackle only no rods or reels. Here is what I picked up. 1. 3 20 packs of BPS Stick-o's 2. Pack of Spinnerbait Skirts 3. Storm Wild Eye Suspending Swim Bait 4. 2 Pack of Berkley Realistix Jerk Shad 5. Pack of Culprit 10" Worms 6. New Devil's Horse 7. 1 shallow, medium and deep Crank Bait 8. 25 Pack of 3/0 Hooks 9. 5 pack of 5/0 hooks 10. Pack of Baby Brush Hogs 11. Pair of StyleScience Sunglasses 12. 24 pc. Jig Head set for Panfish 13. Spool of Berkely Big Game 12lb 14. Some Powerbait Scent Probably a couple more things but I can't remember them now. It was a great day. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 10, 2008 Super User Posted March 10, 2008 Nice haul. I did really well resisting that furry bugger at the Spring Classic this year. I only spent, with tax, $32. I bought a RC .5 and some Berkley plastics. I even took a crank out of my cart and put it back. There's a first for everything. Quote
CFFF 1.5 Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 I should have a bought a Berkley Lightning Rod they had 7' casting rods for $20 and it never hurts to have an extra. I put a few things back to. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 10, 2008 Super User Posted March 10, 2008 I visited the local BPS (Memphis) and came away empty handed. They did not have one thing I was looking for on sale! That made me mad, so I didn't buy anything. > Quote
Willzx225 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Ahh Yes, the Spring Bait Monkey Classic!! ;D I didn't hurt myself too badly but I too spent around 100 bucks. I did vow that for next year I will run lean on my inventory towards the end of the year and stock up at this show. I saved like 20-30 bucks on my total. Quote
tkite16 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I keep stopping on the way home from work and buying more Rick Clunn Lucky Craft crankbaits. Quote

dumb_dog11 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 u guys make me feel terrble i walked out with about 550 dollars which included about 450 dollars worth of tackle. I bought one reel, a quantum KVD sig series. Picked up several lucky craft cranks, and some SK jerks, spro little johns, spro bronzeye frogs and some fishing line as well as a browning worm bag(very nice). Bait monkey sure got me. I have been saving money for a couple months for this though. Quote
cbfishalot Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Really, what does BPS ever have on sale that you want? Quote
Super User Munkin Posted March 11, 2008 Super User Posted March 11, 2008 I keep stopping on the way home from work and buying more Rick Clunn Lucky Craft crankbaits. I have a friend who works there so I put in an order for 12 of these. Allen Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted March 11, 2008 Super User Posted March 11, 2008 Really, what does BPS ever have on sale that you want? Some Lucky Craft lures are almost always on sale (not advertised, but in-store specials). I was specifically looking for some more Yo-Zuri RatlN' Vibes, but no deal! > Quote
Zebco202 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I was out of town and visited BPS this weekend. I spent less than $60 so the BM didn't have too tight a grip on me. Of course I also wrote a check last week for $1,200 to the federal government so that will slow down your spending a bit. They had Cotton Cordel Superspots on sale so I bought a few of those. Gambler Giggy Sticks Several packs of trick worms and finesse worms a few packs of shakey heads and few new jigs. That was about it. Quote
rondef Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 The bait monkey got deep into my pockets and took out a good chunk of change. After this past weekend I officially have to stay away from Bass pro Shop until late fall. 1 Signature Seires Kevin Van Dam Baitcaster reel. 1 Bass Pro Shop Tourney Special Trigger Rod. 1 Bass Pro Shop Pro Series Spinning reel. 2 Spools of line (Stren) 330 yards. 1 new PFD for my boat 1 Berkley Spooling Station 2 Bass Pro Shops Spring 2008 Fishing Classic T-shirts 1 Red Head tournament shirt 10 Lures (BPS shad rattle, Rat-L-Traps and other lipless crankbaits) 1 BPS Infant hat for my future grandchild (due to arrive in September) 1 BPS Infant outfit (onesy) for my future grandchild) Quote
cbfishalot Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 RW The Yo-Zuri rattlN vibes are $5.50 and the hard cores are $7.99 at the Sportsmans Warehouse by me. That is there everyday price and it beats BPS $8.99 and $13.00. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted March 12, 2008 Super User Posted March 12, 2008 A buddy of mine went last weekend and said it was a waste of time. So this year I decided to stay home. BPS is about two hours away and it makes no sense to spend the gas money when I can go to my local tackle shop and get everything BPS has and more. Quote
