unhbass37 Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Any thoughts on changing the location? I'd hate to rip the lower end out of my outboard from a stump. I heard it has a lot of hidden ones. No problem if everyone still wants to go there either. I am still in either way. Quote
jaystraw Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 I'd be up for Farmington, but that does make a long drive for fmoore. I'm thinking we may just want to hit up Franklin Pierce Lake here in Hillsboro. Hopkinton could get crowded, and it''s so shallow prop busting could be an issue. There is a chance it could be busy, but I guess we risk that with every lake at this time of year. It's very big (500 acres), and it's got a good launch. So, here's the latest update: Boats Myself (Jay) - Boat. Possible open seat. Wagn - boat. open seat?? fmoore - boat Open seat. Shane J- Boat. Open seat nashua fisherman - boat UNHbass - boat Needs seat bassmaster6- canoe- could use seat. NHfisher - needs seat bwillis- needs seat NHBass fishing - needs seat Quote
wagn Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Either Hopkington or Franklin Pierce is fine by me. Franklin Pierce has a great launch....are we all cool to fish there Jay without being down residents? I don't have an open seat. A friend from work will be fishing with me. Also I still have all of those trophies I made for the tourney that got cancelled last year....we could give them out for biggest fish by lenght or something. No money involved but just for fun. Hopkington does have hidden stumps, but really only within the areas of fallen timber. If your motoring through there and not trolling your really asking for a torn up prop Quote
fmoore Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 My vote (for whatever it's worth) is for Franklin Pierce. Quote
unhbass37 Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I'm thinking to fish a place where no one has been yet. Makes it a little bit of a challenge for all of us, but I will fish wherever you all choose. Just throwing it out there. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted June 30, 2010 Super User Posted June 30, 2010 Yeah, wherever is fine by me, too. Just if we end up at Stumpfield, it'll be all trolling for me. Quote

Makes it a little bit of a challenge for all of us, but I will fish wherever you all choose. Just throwing it out there. I agree with the idea, but my concern is having everyone show up at a lake that no one has been to before and finding out there's a bad ramp, no parking, or even just bad fishing. The one good thing about fishing a lake that at least one of us has been too is that we can at least know what to expect. I'd still like to do one of these on Powdermill sometime, but it has the same problem as Hopkinton...shallow dangerous spots for props. Quote
jaystraw Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 I'd be up for changing this to Powder Mill Pond. It certainly has the facilities, and none of us have really fished it all that much. I've only fished it once, and I think wagn has fished it a few times. Just make sure you charge up your trolling motor batteries!!!! I hit aa good sized log there at the beginning of the year with the new boat with the big motor down. No damage, but it made me pretty wary of running the big motor in unknown waters. It will be pretty funny to see all of us making the long run between the two ponds with our trolling motors set to 5! LOL! It sure will even the field between the boats. If we did decide to stick with Franklin Pierce, we are all fine to fish there. They never check about residents at the launch, but I'll bring little signs that say "Guest of " for everyone that comes just in case. The only problem with Franklin Pierce is that it is a busy lake with waterskiers, jet skis, sea planes, etc... Not a quiet place, but it holds good fish. Powder Mill is kind of a mystery to me, and I'm always up for a challenge. Quote
wagn Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Really Jay, I'll fish wherever you decide to go. let's just pick a lake and time to meet. Franklin Pierce, Hopkington, Powdermill, all of them are fine by me. My only real concern would be if I had to drive a couple of hours, and so far every lake is within an hour of me, so that's fine. Quote
jaystraw Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Well, I've got to pull the trigger at some point on the decision. I'll have it figered out very soon. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted July 8, 2010 Super User Posted July 8, 2010 So, where's it gonna be, guys? Quote
nashua fisherman Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 im down for whatever. i only have my 10footer so anything smaller than winnipesaukee is fine by me. i have limited internet access right now so if i dont respond to an pm dont think im blowing anyone off. Quote
jaystraw Posted July 10, 2010 Author Posted July 10, 2010 Well, I think it is decided, but I'm just wanting for a report on the water level and I'll let everyone know ASAP. Please let me know if the info below is incorrrect. Boats Myself (Jay) - Boat. open seat. Wagn - boat. no open seat fmoore - boat Open seat. questionable Shane J- Boat. Open seat nashua fisherman - boat. no open seat. UNHbass - boat. Open seat Needs seat bassmaster6- canoe- could use seat. NHfisher - needs seat bwillis- needs seat NHBass fishing - needs seat Quote
Super User Shane J Posted July 10, 2010 Super User Posted July 10, 2010 Yup, good as far as my info shows. I got my new prop yesterday, and I'm ready to rip it up! Quote
fmoore Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I'm looking iffy for Friday. Might end up having to work Quote
Super User Shane J Posted July 12, 2010 Super User Posted July 12, 2010 Could someone please PM me their cell # for a contact in case I get lost going to wherever we're going. Thanks. I will be without a computer from later this afternoon, until Wednesday evening, so if you guys don't hear from me, don't worry, I'm definitely still going. My cell is 219-8487 if anybody needs it. Quote
jaystraw Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 you are all set Shane. Just sent you my cell #. OK guys. It looks like it's going to be Powder Mill Pond in Greenfield. It's a very shallow lake overall so it's going to be a lot of trolling motors and fishing the weeds/milfoil. Wagn, if you want to do those trophies, that would be great!! If anyone needs directions, the launch is just off Forest Road in Greenfield, at the south end of the ponds. Quote
wagn Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Sounds good Jay. I'll bring trophies, since I have them anyway. We can give them out for most fish, or biggest fish or something. We'll just go by the honor system since it's just more of a gag then anything Quote
unhbass37 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I won't be able to get there till about 8:30 or so. Let me know also. Quote

I'm still planning for 8:00am, but I'm sure 8:30am will be fine as well. It's going to take a while to get everyone launched and ready. Quote
fmoore Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I'll be coming Friday. If anyone wants the backseat, shoot me a PM Quote
wagn Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Also Powdermill is only a few minutes away from my house. If people want to do a barbaque or something afterward we can....just let me know Quote
