Have been fishing a lot this year at Glendale Lake at Prince Gallitzin State Park.  There is this crappy foreign weed growing all over the place.....it is real stringy and looks like it has seeds on it.  There is grass from shore to 12+ feet of water.  I think the park sprayed the weed but then didn't do anything else about it.  They are floating EVERYWHERE!!  Ive been running down the lake and hit a big patch of floating weeds and it will bog out the motor.  Actually had them plug up the impeller.  Luckily I was paying attention coz who knows what coulda happened!  Anyone know what this grass is?  Definetely not coon tail or milfoil of anykind.  Every single cast you bring a 6ft string of weeds back to the  boat.

BLAH!!!

I have no idea what that weed is.We were at Glendale on Sunday, over at the sailboat launch and it looked like one of those huge floating mats on the ocean.I fish Canoe Creek alot and it's weedy but not that stuff.

weeds are only a problem if you don't love bass fishing.. used spro frogs or ribbits fished over the weed tops in the week choked areads with a medium heavy baitcaster and some braid and you just might have the most fun you've ever had bass fishing in that lake

I think what you are decsribing is Bladderwort. This is not a weed conducive to good fishing in my experience. Weed choked doesn't begin to describe this junk. Navagation is nearly impossible and they don't hold fish to the dgree that other weeds seem to. The mats are so thick a fish couldn't come through it to hit a top water even if they were under there.

Bladderwort is shaped kinda like milfoil or coontail but the "leavs" are net like and have little seeds all over. This stuff grows fairly deep, 6'+ and lays over matting on top. Our lake is using blankets and harvesting in attempts to avoid chemicals.

Yep, hate that stuff. Think the only thing I haven't tried was using big hooks (6/0+) to actually get a hook set. I seldom find 2-3lbers in there. It only catch them outside it, like they got a tunnel system going on
