Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 10, 2008 Super User Posted March 10, 2008 I just read about this thing, and I must say it definitely brought a smile to my face. I pictured this guy teasing the hell out of a bass with this little shrimp in a toy cup....LOL http://www.***.com/descpageEXTUBO-ETR.html Quote
mattm Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Pretty interesting, but it better work or you might get laughed off the lake. Quote
Bass XL Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Actually FLW Mag. has a big article about it. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted March 11, 2008 Super User Posted March 11, 2008 Leave it to the Japanese to come up with something like that. They are creative... Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 11, 2008 Super User Posted March 11, 2008 Wow, they must be selling like hotcakes. Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 That is a good idea. Why didn't I think of it!? Quote
Hot Rod Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Man I hope and pray that fishing in the good ol' USA never gets so difficult due to presure and limited resources that we have to resort to that combersome technique to catch a fish! Quote
ohiobassmaster93 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 honestly......that might be the dumbest thing i've ever saw Quote
Super User David P Posted March 11, 2008 Super User Posted March 11, 2008 The only problem with that set up is, once you hook the fish you have a cup on the end of your line as well. It could cause problems. I know the article the guy says he drops a white senko down and tries to get the fish to hit the senko, so that he doesn't have to fight the fish with a cup on the end. Quote
alger319 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 isn't that a dukie rig ??(pyramid sinker and floating crankbait) but way more expensive. dukie rig works, but that thing looks retarded, my opinion... Quote
Super User grimlin Posted March 11, 2008 Super User Posted March 11, 2008 Cool idea, not worth $30 though.... Quote

Read an article about it in FLW. I thought for sure the thing didn't even have a hook on it. It was used to tick off inactive fish that were not biting. Than they would throw another bait down there and they would smash it. To much work IMO. I thought it was dumb as well. Quote

Yah, I know how they're fishing it, but at the same time, i'm sure a ticked off fish WILL hit that. And there is a spot for a hook to go.. Quote
mattm Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 isn't that a dukie rig Not exactly. My understanding of the dookie rig is that it is intended to simulate a bluegill feeding on eggs in the bed. The pyramid sinker rest on the bottom and you reel the crank down to the ground and give slack. The bait floats up and you repeat the reel down process to imitate a fish diving at the eggs. I can see how the cup really helps p the fish off. The bass could be really interested in gettng the bait but couldn't do it if it was in the cup. Eventually I could see the bass looking in the cup thinking the next time that little shrimp comes out of that cup i'm killing it. Quote
