s13john Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 going up to green pond nj in mid June, any tips on what stage the fish will be ... spawn or spawned out ... and if anyone has fished their lemme know. ;D ;D thanks br Quote
backwater4 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Don't know about that pond exactly, but would assume most fish would be post spawn. I know here in NY and CT there are a few on the beds now, but thats about it. I'd start checking the weedlines in mid June. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I live on a mountain, with colder water than the surrounding areas, and they are bedding right now. So my guess is at green pond (which is right down the mountain from me) is post spawn right now. the gills are starting to show up on beds (they use the bass beds after they're done) so I can't imagine that green pond would be spawn or pre-spawn at this point. egolfer Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 I am up here now in the Fairfield, Verona, West Orange Area. I wacked some fish yesterday at some pond in Verona Park. The males are on beds, the females are roaming looking for beds. I was able to catch cruising females and fish holding to structure. The milfoil is awesome, but literally no fish out of the grass. I believe the females are holding in the grass just offshore, but they were not eat. Quote

BrianSnat Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 It's mid June so I guess you are here now. Bass have been off beds for a while. The lake I've been fishing is a few miles from Green Pond. I've been doing very well during the day and evenings in 4-8 feet of water using weightless, T rigged Senkos, Yum dingers and swim Senkos. And after sunset using a Rapala Skitterpop in about 2-6 feet of water. Water temps last week were in the high 60's and low 70's. Quote
