Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 9, 2008 Super User Posted March 9, 2008 well as a result of me being bored this morning, i started tinkering w/ lures. the result: i used a bobbin threader (fly tying tool) to thread round rubber skirt material thru the senko. i used two pieces of skirt material for each set of legs (3 sets). this thing has very great wiggly action. i took a short video of the action, but its a pretty bad video and doesnt do a good job showing the action. anyway, i think im gonna give this modification a try and see how it preforms, you guys should do the same. Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 9, 2008 Super User Posted March 9, 2008 That reminds me of the little spider jigs we use for panfish in the winter, except in a much bigger profile. Nice mods. Looks like a fun bed bait. Cast it near the bed, let it die, give a small twitch, just enough to get the skirt material to sway.......Hold on. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted March 9, 2008 Super User Posted March 9, 2008 That's a good idea Dave. The Japanese have been doing that for a while now to gain an edge on their heavily pressured waters. They actually sell a kit to modify your soft plastics. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.bass.co.jp/index.php%3Fa%3D3000%26b%3D18757&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.bass.co.jp/index.php%253Fa%253D3000%2526b%253D18757%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG Quote

HesterIsGod Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Cool, I love to modify baits, especially soft plastics. I agree with gone_fishin, that will probably be a fantastic bedding bait Quote

-ebby- Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 "7 cm3 crank a temporary nuclear reactor"- is that legal? ;D Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted March 11, 2008 Super User Posted March 11, 2008 Reminds me of a Gapens Ugly Bug. See if you research experts can find anything on that. Guys name is Dan Gapen. BTW Dave, I think you'll enjoy great success with your modification. The above mentioned Ugly Bug is a smallie killer. It is responsible for my PB smallie caught in the BWCA. Quote
Davis Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Pretty sweet Dave. I think I'll give that a try as well. Cool idea. Quote
jrhennecke Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Great Idea. Will give it a try for sure. Quote
