Tappan Lake is a great lake for both bass species. I fished a few tournaments there last year and had no problem hauling in both Largemouth and Smallmouth there. This time of year I like to fish near the marina. Find points and riprap in that area and cast 3" tubes and the shakyhead worm in a green pumkin color. Last year during a tournament I caught a 3 lb plus smallie in one of the tunnels that lead under the road to the back water bays. Hope this info helps. Good Luck.

There's a lot of good lakes in NE Ohio. Three good lakes for LMB would be Portage Lakes, Mogadore and Ladue Reservoir in no particular order.

In the spring I like to fish jig-n-pigs and lipless crankbaits. Water clarity is a real crap shoot this time of year so I vary colors and presentations quite a bit. Once fish have moved into spawning mode I will move to weightless Zoom Trick Worms fished Texposed.
