Tappan Lake is a great lake for both bass species. I fished a few tournaments there last year and had no problem hauling in both Largemouth and Smallmouth there. This time of year I like to fish near the marina. Find points and riprap in that area and cast 3" tubes and the shakyhead worm in a green pumkin color. Last year during a tournament I caught a 3 lb plus smallie in one of the tunnels that lead under the road to the back water bays. Hope this info helps. Good Luck. Quote
BlackBass19 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 There's a lot of good lakes in NE Ohio. Three good lakes for LMB would be Portage Lakes, Mogadore and Ladue Reservoir in no particular order. In the spring I like to fish jig-n-pigs and lipless crankbaits. Water clarity is a real crap shoot this time of year so I vary colors and presentations quite a bit. Once fish have moved into spawning mode I will move to weightless Zoom Trick Worms fished Texposed. Quote
Blue Streak Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Check out the Ohio River fishing it can be very good at times. Quote
