riverfisher Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Schoharie and surrounding counties. Schoharie creek should be whippen if we get the rain they say were gonna get this weekend. I can't wait to hit the Ol'Creek this spring!! The Mohawk river is a mud pit so Im assuming so is the creek. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Schoharie and surrounding counties. Schoharie creek should be whippen if we get the rain they say were gonna get this weekend. I can't wait to hit the Ol'Creek this spring!! The Mohawk river is a mud pit so Im assuming so is the creek. The Schoharie carries that Catskill red clay out to the river. Have you checked upstream from there? There are some good pools that might become fish-able a little sooner. Quote
dh88hms Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Last week I went out as far as Prattsville and it was the same as the creek behind my house. Gonna take a trip out a little further than Prattsville this week to see how it's going that way. Thank you for the heads up DVT. Quote
BassFrenzy Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 so far so good here in cambridge and sushun im wanting to get out to cossayuna lake soon heard good things about it Quote
riverfisher Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Schoharie creek should be ready to go! I cross the Mohawk on my way to work everyday and thats really really low. Locks will be ready for navigation May 1st. Iv heard reports that Toga has been hitten pretty good. Stripers should be up to Troy on the Hudson in a week or so herring are abound. If anyone fishes Round Lake dont bother heading there with a boat on a trailer the town has closed the launch. I might hit the Upper Hudson this weekend maybe Sacandoga who know's. Game On time to fish!! Quote
rpifishing Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Anyone fish around the Albany/Troy area? I've only been to the Tomhannock, and there's so few bass in that lake. I'd hugely appreciate it if someone could point me to some good bassin waters! Quote
Arty Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Head to Saratoga Lake. I was on Saratoga this past weekend. Water was still cold, and bite is slow, but with some warmer weather it'll speed things up real quick. Quote
