So im going to be itching to get out to do some fishing this weekend with all this wonderful weather (just like everyone else and their mother)...my question/concern is:

With all this rain, is it going to hurt the fishing at all?  Does this change your strategy or how you approach things?  What do you plan on throwing?

Oh yeah! High, cold, muddy water calls for desperate measures. And by desperate measures, I mean lures and baits that literally cause a ruckus, like chatterbaits, and big ole jigs with big trailers and rattles. Good luck out there.

I've been to some hard hit areas and some of the boat ramps are completely submerged. I did see a few boats on the water though.

I wont be fishing until things calm down a bit.

I know some folks have been hitting some decent bass out toward the cape, but I haven't had much luck west of Worchester so far.

I would choose natural lakes rather than rivers or reservoirs.

Smallies often stack in front of inlets and  they should be checked out.

Throw a jerk bait all day and you will catch fish with a slow cadence. Fish will hit during the pause and will usually be a subtle tick like a worm or jig bite.

If your wrist and elbow aren't burning at the end of the day your not doing it right or enough :(

I hit up the Sudbury Res today and all I have to say is wow, that was a lot of rain!  Most of my usualy spots were under water and i was having some trouble casting because of the trees/brush around.

Anyway, me and my buddy went for a little over an hour and managed 1 fish each (each about 1-1.5 lbs).  I got mine on a xrap jerkbait and my buddy got his slow rolling a spinnerbait.

I will probably head back this weekend after some of this nice weather, but it was a good sign that we got a couple shortly after all of this rain.
