nashua fisherman Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Lovewell. Just because it was easy to get to and there was open water. did you fish from the beaver dam? i ask because there isnt much shore access other than that at lovewell. i have fished that pond quite a bit over the past two years and have only caught crappie and one pickeral. one time we caught 50 crappie in two hours. we pulled a 14.5"er out of there last year. have you ever caught bass there? unhbass37 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I remember that picture Tom. That is your pond. I will have to have you show me that one sometime. Quote

The beaver dam that Im aware of is pretty tough to get to via the shoreline. If I toss the canoe in I can catch them pretty consistently up against the dam that Im thinking of. I walked a bit down that road until I saw a little outcropping of matted grass that had a narrow walkout made of downed logs. Its about half way down the bank. I dont fish here often but when I do I launch from this point. Its probably submerged right now though with all this rain. I havent caught bass there yet - only crappie and some pretty large pickerel. It does look like it should hold bass though. That 14.5 crappie is a very nice fish. I believe the qualifier for a NH Fish and Game trophy black crappie is 15. Quote
catchbig0bass Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Beautiful day I must say. Alot of guys use lipless cranks, But I manily use Senkos, or Jigs and usually fish that all year long for the most part and do very well. ;D R/C cars huh? I'm into that to. Have a few nitro trucks and cars. Tons of fun also. Quote

I dont fish much out in the Keene area but the NH Fish and Game website is a pretty good place to start for information. Here's a link. Good luck this season. http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/bathy_maps.htm Quote

jaystraw Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 You probably don't want to "beat" it. That thread has had many, many problems with data corruption because it's so big. So if you want this thread to "blow up" and everything lost, keep posting away. Otherwise, start a new one. New one started!!! Let's post in that one boys!! Quote
fmoore Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Hey everyone,I'm a junior over at Keene State and was looking for a little knowledge/advise on where some of the best spots are near by. Thanks and hope to see some of ya out there! -Mike I'm a junior at Keene High just across town... assuming you're bass fishing, the immediate area doesn't have much, but there are a ton of places to fish within 30-45 mins. Wilson Pond in Swanzey is just south of town but has little shore access (although the college owns some land on the pond), Forest Lake in Winchester just had a new boat ramp put in last summer after the old one was closed in 2004. That has pretty much no public shore access. Spofford Lake is a great fishery before all the yahoos get out there in the summer, but again, no public shore access. The setbacks on the CT River in Hinsdale are great, and probably offer some of the best shore access in the area. There are a lot of ponds in the Rindge area, and most of them are phenomenal bass fisheries. I could go on all day, but feel free to shoot me a PM if you want some more specifics. Quote

Wheelie forever. no, its only a 2.5 but it will wheelie down the whole st. im fixing it for a friend at work who just got into nitro. this thing is way too fast for a monster truck!!! im probably going to give it back before i break it since i cart wheeled it halfway down my st yesterday. anyway, i shore fished mill pond and flints in hollis this week from the shore without any luck. im probably going to take my boat out this weekend. Push_Button_Bassin Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Ice out on Thursday, kayak in on Friday. 4-lber on Saturday (after losing a nicer one yesterday). The bass are definitely "poppin" today. Found a shallow pattern that seems to be working so I'll head back out again in a few before the weather changes again. Quote
