wagn Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Sounds like everyone is still doing pretty well. I'm hoping to get out this wed morning or thursday for a couple of hours. I'm hoping the water temp will stay up for just a little while longer so i can squeeze a few more days out of this season Quote
nashua fisherman Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I went to Flints Pond in Hollis on Saturday from about 3pm to 6:30pm.I caught a 3lb LMB and half caught (LOL, those darn lily pads) 2 that seemed to be decent. It's tough pulling those darn fish out of the lily pads. It was windy and cool closer to dark, but the fish seemed active. That place is weird to fish...the places you swear has to have fish don't! I was fishing in places I would never thought would have some fish, but they were biting. I am off to the Nashua River now on my buddy's boat. We are headed down to Hollis since I can't go that far with my flat boat. I will update you all later. one of my favorite places to fish. when the bass aint bitting the big pickeral are. deepest spot is 6-7ft deep. we usualy fish the edge of the pads with spinnerbaits and any color senko type worm. my wife caught a 2.12 and a 3.12 there in the same day. we have had the best luck fishing from the left of the ramp to the house with the lighthouse on the dock. also had some luck fishing the side with the houses back to the ramp. we had better luck early in the year. never had too much luck in the nashua river. Super User Shane J Posted September 28, 2009 Super User Posted September 28, 2009 Couple of real nice fish for your wifey there, dude! Quote
nashua fisherman Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 thanks. she usualy outfishes me. im a better guide than fisherman. Quote
nhbassin13 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 here is a bass i caught the other day. at first it looked to be no bigger than two lbs but then i saw it had the biggest strecthed belly i have ever seen on this small of a fish. it ended up weighing 3.3 lbs Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Nice fish. Where in Wilton did you catch it? Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 29, 2009 Super User Posted September 29, 2009 Nice fish! I love when they have bellies like that. That's the fall feed, baby! Quote
llPa1nll Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Nice Fish! nhbassin13! Definitely chunking up on the Fall feed bag. I have never had great luck up that way if its the place Im thinking of. Looks like the Fall Bite is coming a tad late this year lets get out on the water and stick em! Tight lines all. Quote
nhbassin13 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 yah that came from the wilton resevoir but it is really hit or miss with that place. Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I hear ya. Just wondering where thats all. Nice catch. Quote
llPa1nll Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Ya Wilton Res., Deering Res., and Lake Horace they all give me fits. I have had brutally slow day out on all of them. Multiple ones out on Deering Res. I cant help remember being forced to fish 5in Senkos to catch 8in SM Bass. I looked at my boat partner and asked is this really worth it? Lake Horace was bad however I havent been back. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Wow, nice fish nhbassin13. I live not even 5 minutes from that place, never seen anything bigger than maybe 2lbs tops come outta there. Whatd ya get em on? Quote
nhbassin13 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 pa1n i have had the same luck as you at all three places. paid the money to launch at horace and did horrible there. deering is good to me one day and the next its catching little 8" bass all day. and babosicbass i caught him on the senko in a watermelon color. like i said wilton is really difficult you can see a ton of bass in the water but there small usually. however i have caught one bass bigger than my 3.3 out of there and my dad this year got a 4.5 lb out of there. one of the locals told me he caught a 6 lber there so who knows but mostly just smaller bass come out of there. Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Sounds like Robinson pond to me... A ton of small ones, But only a few bigger ones. Quote
nhbassin13 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 yeah exactly like robinson pond. Quote
Nashua-River-Rat Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I went out on the Nashua River the last two evenings. Monday I caught ZERO, but my buddy caught a real nice 4lb 2 oz LMB. This thing was practically on shore. He snagged it in about 6 inches of water hiding under some of that thin green muck....I guess that is from pollen. Last night I went out again and caught a 1.8 and a 2.1, one was in deep water and one was in the shallows. I can't believe I caught the first one. I was reeling my worm in and it was totally covered with muck. He grab it and took a ride before I could set the hook. Quote
nhbassin13 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 yeah i am so frustrated with the nashua river i have been there multiple times with horrible luck i want to give up on the place but i know there is big bass in there. i fished the big bassathon tournament there a couple of weeks ago with no luck again. i just cant seem to find the big ones Quote

I cant figure that place out either. It is pretty heavily pressured. That might have something to do with it. Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Lets face it rivers in general are difficult to fish. I have had luck in the river, But like I said it's hit or miss. SausageFingers23. How have you been doing? I havn't seen many posts from you, Have you been fishing much? My fishing is very limited now. Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I have been fishing here and there. Ive actually been doing pretty well. Though lately the bite has been slowing down a bit, for me anyway. Im still catching fish, just not pulling in the same numbers that I was. All in all, its been a very solid season for me. I have to hit the water after work and the shorter days are making that a bit difficult now. I think Im going to switch over and try to hit up some of the trout ponds before theyre off limits in a couple of weeks. Good to see that youre still hauling them in. Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Anyone have any experience with Beaver Lake in Derry? I was thinking of giving it a go. Thanks in advance. Quote
catchbig0bass Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Anyone have any experience with Beaver Lake in Derry? I was thinking of giving it a go. Thanks in advance. I have fished beaver lake multiple times and have yet to catch much over a lb. And even those come far and few between. One thing that has been working for me is giving up the senko's and switching to a GYM IKA.... kinda a tube bait solid thats got a bushy tail. I have been doing pretty well with those when the senko's aren't hitting. Quote
SausageFingers23 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Thanks. I appreciate the input. Might not be worth wasting a trip. Maybe Ill try somewhere else. Quote
unhbass37 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Don't waste a trip to beaver lake. Try elsewhere. Quote
