wagn Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Good to see everyone out on the water. Pain...i'm willing to bet you were fishing a different lake then Canobie. Glad that you had such a great day out there. Got out with my Dad again this past week. The bite was slow only 5 fish overall, and only 3 bass. I did pull up a nice 4lber just deadsticking in the middle of a canal. -tight lines Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 hey guys went out yesterday with wagn and did ok only about 3 that were decent size the rest were pretty small but not a bad day, at least we had good weather this time haha... went out later that night with my buddy to a small place near his house and were getting some good ones with jitterbugs. Although i did get a really small one on the jitterbug which i found hilarious because its not much bigger than the jitterbug, took him 6 tries to get it 5 blow ups got him on the 6th. Went out there again today around 4 and got 1 decent sized one then a bunch of smaller ones then we took a break for food and got some headlamps and headed back out for some night fishing, but we didn't get to fish it too much tonite got 1 no joke 1 foot away from shore but that was it tonite. cant really fish this place too late at night due to its location my friend lives down the road from it and they hear coyotes down there just about every night. Headed to bass pro shops tomorrow with him, just went there last week so im gonna try to come back with some money in my wallet lol. hope you guys are getting em Not sure what this guys plans were with this And a few from today: Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 hey still gettin some good ones lol...went to bass pro shops again today with a few friends picked up a decent amount of stuff there, then went out again to the place by my friends again tonite and got some big ones! Really wish i had a scale for some of these, had to call it quits after about an hour because the bugs were killing us even with the headlamps off it was awful. My friends good one: Me with a good one: My friend with another good one: Quote
Fuzzy101prf Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I walked down to Massabesic tonight.. I pulled this guy out with a black/blue chatter bait.. This Larry was heavy! It was great catching him after such a dry spell. Quote
jaystraw Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Nice fish everyone!! It does seem like the bigger fish have already started to move shallow again. I've caught numerous SM and LM bass right around 3 LBs..sure was nice to feel that again after a month of a lot of fish around 1-2 pounds. Here's a couple pics: Most of my fish have been caught on senkos near rocks in the water...some on a creature bait. I've also been having some good topwater action with the Jitterbug in the middle of the day. Quote
KlubbaT Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Welcome aboard Chad. Â Think you'll enjoy this site. Â Has tons of info and has lots of people willing to give good advice. Â I'm originally from NS Mass (Lynn) but now live in Southern NH. Â Maybe we'll cross paths in the future. Â Good luck catchin those hawgs! Â P.S. What is NEF? Â Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Hey everyone went out with wagn today, it was a pretty windy and a slow day... I had a pickeral come off at the boat early on and caught my first largemouth on a spinnerbait right before we left.....WAGN on the other hand caught a monster early in the trip, this thing was HUGE!!! No scale with us but this had to have been at least 6lbs it was fat!!! He also had a pickeral and another decent sized bass. Great job wagn! wagns big fish: FAT!!! Wagns other bass: Quote
jaystraw Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Beautiful fish wagn!! Looks like she's been fighting with something equally tough! What did you catch her on?? Quote
wagn Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Thanks Jay. And thanks Dave for putting the pics up. It's funny, The day was super windy and very hard to control the boat. I als had a migrane headache for no reason almost the whole time. Yet just one fish makes it totally worth it. Â ;D I caught her on a spinnerbait. It was a spinnerbait day for sure. I didn't even feel the hit at first. I think she just sucked it in as a pulled it through the pads. At one point she went under the boat and i had my rod almost all the way in the water. I thought i was going to lose her at that point. Hope everyone else is enjoying the fall weather fishing Quote
KlubbaT Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Nice fish man! Â Hope I Â can get one that big before winter hits. Quote
jaystraw Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I went out this past week a couple times. Â Seems like the average fish (largemouth only these trips) has gotten bigger, and I had a lot of luck on crankbaits (Lucky Craft Pointer in "brownie"). Â It's the first time since the early spring that I've had much luck on them, and the first time I've caught a lot of fish on this one. Â Mosty in the 1-3 pound range. Â Senkos and Bass Pro Shops Stickos also worked really well. Most of the fish were in 5-10 feet of water, usually near cover of some sort. Â Fish seemed to be most active after the sun had warmed the water (and me) up a bit. Quote
wagn Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Looks like the fall bite is on. Jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, and bigger fish. I've got to spend more time on the water, before our short fall season ends. Quote
llPa1nll Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 Nice fish wagn. Let the fall season begin! Quote
jaystraw Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Caught this fish yesterday about 20 feet offshore, under the branches of a really tall pine tree, on a senko. I really thoguht it was going to weight more, but I'll never turn down a 2.5 pound smallie. Great afternoon with senkos, tubes and a new one...YUM's Gonzo Grub (looks like a GYCB 2tail hula grub). No luck on crankbaits (except for one tiny fish) or spinners. Looks like a crappy weekend, but good luck to any that brave the weather. Quote
Dean Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 This is also posted in the "My Outing" section, but heres my 2 lb 14oz. Smallie caught outta Mascoma Lake, Enfield NH. Caught her near the dam on the lower end of the lake. Quote
wagn Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I know that some people have been saying that this fall has been really slow. I don't know what people are talking about. I went out with my Dad again today and caught 1 5lb LM, 4 2+ lb Lm, and a 2lb smallie. This fall has been great so far. I just hope I can get a few more trips in before the water cools down too much. Hope everyone else is getting out there. -Chuck Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Sounds like ya had a good day nice job chuck -Dave Quote
jaystraw Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I'm with wagn! The fishing has been a little slow in the Am, but picks up. I've been fishing pretty slow, and it's paying off. Numerous ish in the 2-3 pound range, and this 5.0 pound hog from yesterday. Caught her on a senko under some lily pad adjacent to deeper water. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Nice fish jay, I wouldn't mind a 5 lber before the years over  ;D Quote
llPa1nll Posted October 8, 2008 Author Posted October 8, 2008 Nice fish guys I have been having some boat issuses and I have been out lately. Nice fish everyone keep it up! Quote
jaystraw Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Thanks guys! Â It was my first fish over 4 pounds this year. Â I was so happy when the scale hit 5.0 Good luck everyone! Quote
wagn Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Thanks Pain. Nice Fish Jay. I got out on Thursday again. What a beautiful day. I tried fishing the same way I have been for the last 2 weeks. Fast reaction baits in shallow areas of the river with current near the deep channel......Not 1 bite. That is until I went way back into a cove where the water was only about 2 foot deep at best. I could barely troll. I ended up with 5 nice fish for the day in the 1.5-2lb range. All under leaves and in the remaining milfoil. They wouldn't bite anything that moved, only worms and senko's fished real slowly. Just goes to show you that every day is completely different. Enjoy the weather and the water everyone. -Chuck Quote
jaystraw Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 weird, I posted earlier, but it's not here..... I went out Friday and caught a couple 2 pound smallies. very slow fishing overall, and not what I expected. Pretty much what wagn said..senkos near weeds or tree cover seemed to be the only thing working. gonna try today. good luck all! edited to add: went out today at a little pond in Newbury and did great! LM's were plentiful and caught on senkos and suspending jerkbaits. Lost my LC pointer in a tree, but the Live Pointer was a great backup. Great day, nothing really big, but a ton of fish. Most were either just off the bank, or 5 feet off the bank in about 5-6 feet of water Quote
wagn Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Been out twice this past week. Tuesday was good. Got 8 fish, mostly on a white bladed spinnerbait. Thursday was ok. Came home with 4 fish. 1 nice smallie and 1 nice LM. The bite only seemed to be on when it was raining and then stop when the rain stopped. Caught 2 on a jerkbait, one on a senko skipped under a dock, and 1 on a spinnerbait. Gotta keep getting out there before it's to cold to fish. -Chuck Quote
