llPa1nll Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 Gah!!! I havent been out in my boat in over a month! Im getting the jitters and the shakes. I plan to get out this weekend. Life has been getting in the way with getting some fishing time in. I really need to get out and stick some fish. Quote
wagn Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Been wondering where you were at Pain Got back this week from vacation at a lake up near Sunapee. Boy was it great, the fishing was awesome with many smallies in LM in the 2-4.5 pound range. The spinnerbait bite was great, and I also worked on some new techniques that I have not been successful with before. I caught over 40 quality fish, and the best part was that I could go out for a couple of hours, come back, park my boat at the dock and walk right into my cabin for lunch, and then go right back out again. Jaystraw came up for a couple of mornings and we did pretty good on those days, although Jay had a little trouble bringing the fish to the boat for awhile there ;D Hope everyone else is have as much luck as I have had this year Quote
Bass Tard Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 hi new memeber from Laconia here. Lookin for some small ponds in the area, they i could put my 8ft jon boat in. Try Brindle Pond in Barnstead. Lots of good size bass for a small pond . http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/bathy_maps/brindle_barnstead.pdf Quote

That stuff gets abrasions from a strong wind! I checked and it's a new formula since the stuff last year. Maybe that's the diff? Either way it was a lot of fun catching (even if they did not always get into the boat) with wagn! Good times. Quote

Like to go 1 sunday with out any rain please. Dude, i did the same exact thing this morning. Weather report said only rain, no thundershowers. I loaded everything up, drove to the ramp, and was just starting to back my trailer up and *CRACK* there's the lightning. The horrible part was 20 minutes after I got home it stopped. Quote
MGilbert3 Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I'm up in plymouth, NH. anyone ever try loon lake in plymouth/rumney. Holds some good bass but also a lot of others (pickerel, dais, perch). Haven't had very good luck last few weeks but done good their before. Quote
wagn Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Nope never fished up at loon. I went out yesterday morning to a small lake that you have to hike to and got some float tubing in. Nothing is as relaxing as being in the middle of nowhere in a float tube. It's like a lazyboy recliner for fishing. The only problem was that i tried to go to shore to take a leak and i decided that the best place to beach was in near quicksand. I had myself stuck for 10 minutes trying to pull my legs and flippers out of the silt. Man i was glad that no one else saw me. I looked ridiculous oh and i caught some fish to, including a 1 lb bluegill, what a monster i actually caught it on a creature bait. Turns out that the place i was fishing has held the record at one point for states largest bluegill. hope everyone else is getting out on the water Quote
Bass Tard Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 You have to add that Blue gill to your personal best list. They put up a nice little fight, don't they? Quote
wagn Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 They do, I really never target them, but I think I will next time I'm out on that pond. Quote
Bass Tard Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 All morning long, I was catching largemouths using Zoom frogs. I was using them like a buzz bait over the grass and lilly pads. Great time! I love top water action. Quote
luvfishing Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Finally caught a couple of large mouth. Used the 7 incher power bait worm. Quote

wagn Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 baboosic, congrats on the boat. It's going to make fishing even more addicting I've only been able to go out before work for the last week or so and do some float tubing. been having pretty consistant catch rates, 8-10 bass in 2-3 hours. Not to much size at the place i've been at. alot of fish in the 1 pound range. Although I did pull in a nice 3 1/2 pounder on topwater and then a giant pickeral right after that. Not a bad morning at all. Hope everyone else is having fun on the water -Chuck Quote
Bass Tard Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 I have a 14' boat with a 6hp johnson and a 55lb trolling motor. This guy I know went into the Navy and he needed to get rid of it. Picked it up for a 1000 bucks. I can't seem to stay off the water now. WAGN is right, it's addicting and makes the fishing that more fun. Quote
luvfishing Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Got an 8ft with 30lbs thurst, so much better then standing shoulder to shoulder on the shore. Now just gotta wait for my cabelas order to come in. Anyone from central nh? Quote
spin king Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I'm not sure they allow you to have a boat while you are in prison. Quote
wagn Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I'm not sure they allow you to have a boat while you are in prison. LMAO....KlubbaT, No way you'll be mistaken for a deer in that pic. It does make sense to wear some orange in the areas that I fish and hike too Quote

baboosicbass08 Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Well guys im back from a great weekend at greenfield state park. Fishing was excellent. Fished every morning and last night we fished from about 8 p.m. to a little after midnight with nonstop action. We were about waist high in the water on the beach weather was perfect, it was awesome. topwater was spectacular last night. Tried out a new jitterbug and now i am hooked on it, caught 3 fish in the first three casts with it Lost track how many fish we got last night too many to keep track of. didnt take pics of all of them but got alot of pics still. Best fishing weekend i've ever had. All the night pics were caught on the jitterbug, the daytime ones were all Carolina rigged lizards (watermelon seed) and i think a few were on poppers. Hope u guys are having as much fun as i am out there. By the way, all fished were released Nice night shot of me One of the better fish All the hooks were in this one, kinda tricky The fish from above swimming away Another decent night shot A Good one One of the biggest ones this weekend Quote
Bass Tard Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I had the same kind of luck on Jeness Pond in Northwood this morning. Nice fish Baboosic! Congrats Quote
