jaystraw Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Hey all, new to forum. Was wondering if anyone knew of any cabins up in Northern Nh for rent. Looking for a place on a good lake, with big bass, and great scenery (mountains etc.). Need a place that will sleep 6+. Any suggestions? not off the top of my head, but there must be a lot of stuff in the Lakes Region near Lake Winnipesaukee. wagn and I got out for a few hours of drew Lake yesterday. wagn caught 3 really nice and fat LM's, and a few big pickeral. He caught them on spinners and senkos near rocks or tree stumps in the water. I caught 2 big pickeral on my heddon torpedo. Topwater is nice, but it would have been nicer if it was a bass! Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Hey guys got out to the Wilton Reservoir for a little less than an hour thursday before it started to rain got a small largemouth on topwater. Went to sunset lake today for about 3 hrs and caught a small largemouth and a good size pickeral, both on topwater. Forgot the anchor so the majority of the time fishing today was paddling back to a certain area as the wind kept blowing us to shore. Those fish are the first ones i've ever caught on topwater, up until this past week i had never had any luck on topwater lures before, now i'll be trying them with a little more confidence lol. So hows it going out there for you guys??? Whats working for the bigger fish, all im getting are small ones. Heres a pic of the pickeral from today, look under the eye it had a black stripe on both sides under the eye kinda weird??? Quote
jaystraw Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I had a pretty good weekend of fishing. I went all three days and caught a lot of fish. The biggest was about 3 pounds..no monsters, but steady. Most of my fish were caught on senkos, and a couple on the F-11. I went to Black Pond today in Windsor and did very well. A good amount of really nice and fat LM's even with the wind pushing me around pretty good. All the fish I caught had a lot of red on their tail....spawing sign or something? Quote
Jon R Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I have a mid 80's 195v Astroglass with a 97 Mariner 150efi and love the setup. I bought it on a deal I couldn't refuse but I have some steering problems myself. Let me know how the replacing the steering box works out for you Quote
jaystraw Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I've been on vacation this week, and have been fishing all day every day. It has been great. I've been to Black Pond in Windsor, Upper Pond in Henniker, Halfmoon Pond in Washington and a few others. All of them produced nice big bass, with one of them being 4 pounds. My buddy caught a 4 pound 14 oz LM yesterday on a black YUM vbibra tube. I've seen and caught more bass this past week than I ever have before. I've consistantly been pulling in fish over 2-3 pounds. All the big ones had red on their tail, and were deep in stumps or trees or lilly pads. Most of the smallmouth seem about done with spawn with the LM's seem to be just getting into it. Here are some pictures from the past week: 4lb 14oz 4lbs Quote
wagn Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 nice fish jay Been able to get out at night for a couple hours and shore fish lately. Looks like the night bite is starting up. Only a couple of fish each time but pretty good quality. Also caught my first bass on a swimbait. I love catching fish on new baits Quote
wagn Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 NEW PB 7pounds 1 oz!!! Went out night fishing today, and caught my new pb on a buzzbait. First fish of a year on a buzzbait and man was it huge. I only went out for an hour and didn't even bring my whole tacklebox so I had no camera. Tried to take a camera phone pick but i just wouldn't come out, to dark. Oh well. I put a whole report in the fishing outings section, but just wanted to share here as well. I'm so excited I don't think I'll be able to sleep Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 thats great to hear wagn excellent job buddy. Wow 7lbs that owns my pb and then some lol. congrats man keep it up. Quote
brian_82 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I am getting ready to go on vacation next week in NH. Just wondering what stage the fish are in, spawn or post spawn? What seems to be working lately? Quote
wagn Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Thanks baboosic. funnily enough i went out to that same spot last night and fished the same buzzbait, and caught the smallest bass of my life, lol Brian-I'd say overall still in spawn right now in most places i'm fishing Quote
jaystraw Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 That is great wagn!!!! Awesome!!!!! I'd say the LM's are ready to spawn in most places and the smallies are fully into it. Good luck on senkos, creature baits and a lot of plastics. Quote
KlubbaT Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Hey all, I moved up here to NH from MA 5 years ago. Just got back into fishing a couple weeks ago. Currently I'm living in Brentwood which is near Epping & Exeter (SE NH). I don't have a boat and am trying to find a good place to catch some bass from shore. Anybody have any recomendations for me? Only place I've tried so far is Great Pond in Kingston. Went in through the state park entrance and fished to the right of the swimming area. Didn't have much luck there. Want a good place not too far from home. Also looking for new fishing buddies. Quote
jaystraw Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I think the Exeter River is supposed to hold a good amount of bass. I would do yourserlf a favor and pick up Clarks NH Fishing Guide. Also, the fish and game website had some cool shore fishing spots in Manchster/Nashua which is only a short drive from where you are. Here is a link: http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/Fishing_PDFs/Manch_Nashua_fishing_guide.pdf Quote
KlubbaT Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Thanks Jaystraw. I saw those Clarks guides at Northern Bass Supply and almost got it. Next time I'm in there I'll pick 1 up. That link you sent is great but I was looking for something just a little closer. For those of you that have fished in Kingston, Is Pow Wow or Country pond better than Kingston lake? If so, where can I get in and catch some fish? Quote
wagn Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 make sure to get the clarks at northen bass and not somewhere else because it's cheaper their then wal-mart or another store. Since one of the guys at northern bass actually wrote it Quote

jaystraw Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I've gotten out a few times the past week and done pretty well wit hte smallmouth. They are in spawn right now, shallow and really aggressive. They seem to be hittting senkos, creature baits, and my new favorite bait, the Flappin' Hog. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Hey guys got out to the wilton reservoir yesterday from about 2 to 3 30 ish, got 3 fish first one hit pretty hard and was decent size the others were smaller but still feels good to catch em. All caught on topwater, saw a pretty big snake slither right up to me in the water got a pic of him too. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Hey guys by the way this is what i have caught the majority of my fish on this year it had a white feather at the bottom where the red is but that came off tonight at the wilton reservoir, and 1 of the 3 hooks in the back broke off too somehow, a few small bass at the reservoir tonight but i wasn't there for very long 40 mins tops. KlubbaT Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Hey all, I am looking for a fishing partner in SE NH. Just started fishing up here and need to find good places to go. I don't own a boat so I am looking for good spots from shore. The only place I fished up here so far is Great Pond in Kingston. Only getting small guys from there so far. I live in Brentwood and would like to stay within 45 minutes from where I live. I know Kingston has other lakes but don't know where to go to fish from shore on them. Quote

jaystraw Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 went out last night and fished from 7pm-12AM. and did great. Lots of good sized LMs on senkos prior to the sun going down, and then hula poppers and Pop_R's ruled. Lots of topwater post spawn action. Good times! Quote
bob_1966 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Hellow my fellow NH fishermen. I live in Rochester and I like to fish from Midnight until 6 or 7 AM. I like to fish Lake Winnipesaukee and other lakes in New Hampshire and Maine. I'm 41. I have a 1986 17ft starcraft deep V with a 50 hp merc. It's small and slow but it doses the trick. I'd be happy to take someone fishing with me so long as you're a Non Smoker and No alcohol. Thanks Bob Quote
