Good looking fish mirker. Get a weight on her? Never fished Baboosic, I've heard too many mixed reviews to put any time in there. I may be checking it out soon if the bass look like that one!

it was about a 4 pounder.  I went to the same spot tonight as well. forgot my tackle box but had one watermelon senko on my rode. cought 2 10 inchers and a the third was something bigger. i lost it however as well as my only senko so i had to leave. it was an awesome 20 minutes of fishing. these pictures are my friend jay. the large mouth was from baboosic last week and the pickeral is from winni. they are both camera phone pictures so the quality is poor.

Whats up everyone. I've had some real good luck recently fishing w/ Cheaa and Bassmirker. The recent photos posted by Bassmirker are just the begining of whats to come. We got an inside tup on a tucked away pond in the goffstown/bedford area yesterday. We're gonna toss a line out tonight and see what we can produce.

What up all... the fishing has been great lately! Mirker, Swizz Bazz and I have finally found a few primo spots to cast from land and score some pretty nice bass. I'm the clown holding the 4 pounder in Mirker's post above. I was on the docks at Baboosic and saw a pretty big fish swimming slowly towards me so tossed my watermelon swimming senko about 10 feet away from it and blam! game over... put up a nice fight w/ a couple jumps and then i gave her the ole lip lock. That night was my first experience with senkos and now I can say that they deserve all the hype... we all caught beween 3-5 fish that night w/ the 4 pounder being the biggest, but rumor has it theres some 8's in there.

What's the biggest bass you have caught in NH?? post pics if u got em

I'll see if i can scan and post the pic of me holding the 12.1 pounder I caught in FL

Here is an Open Letter from a friend to BassMaster Magazine, in response to "Larry Smith's Future In Balance" in the Mail Call section of the Magazine. I am not to familiar with how some states work but I am familiar with how NH does things. What is becoming the norm here is Public Ramps to local lakes and ponds staying as a public launch, however the Town asked by the lake association puts up "No Parking Signs" or "Parking for Town Residents Only". These ramps are still considered public but now you have no place to park your rig. The bigger slap in the face is that since these Ramps are considered public and in turn the lake as well, the state goes ahead and stocks these lakes. This is becoming the norm here in NH with the fishermen having to travel farther and farther to find ACTUAL Public Access. This infuriates me and fellow Bass Fishermen here in NH.

I would like to respond to Larry Smith's letter regarding your article Future In The Balance.  I can't agree with him more but there is another side to this story.  In New Hampshire we have a problem with getting access to Lakes to fish.  We have plenty of State provided boat ramps but the lake associations will petition the towns and put up no parking signs.  This gives you a ramp to put your boat in but no place to park your rig.

Because of this we have very limited access to our local lakes to take ourselves or anybody else fishing.  You really need to know somebody who owns lake front property or you yourself own lake front property.  I hope that there are New Hampshire Congressman or Senators that read Bassmaster and read this letter.  The state needs to take back the control of these ramps or provide some kind of parking area that will not effect local traffic.  We often always thought that our fishing license fee's were used to pay for this.

I am a big supporter of take a kid fishing.  When my daughter is old enough I will be taking her, but where is the big question here in NH.  If we want kids to enjoy fishing we need places to take them.

Thank you

Paul, New Hampshire

excellent points.  For such a great fishing state, our access is terrible.

Hey Bassmaster6 I havent been out much as of late. was out for a few hours on Sunday with the Girlfriend but she got too hot and wanted to go in. I did catch 3 in about 2.5hrs time though, and 45 mins of that was towing a fisherman in distress who lost his prop to the trolling motor, back to the launch. As for Kingston Lake I personally havent fished it in sometime but I always see that its got boats on it from the traffic at the launch. I hear its a pretty good fishery with some decent size fish.

For fishing later in the day closer to dusk I like to go to a topwater lure for those bites at dusk. Try a ChugBug, JitterBug, Hula Popper. I have good luck with those. Good luck and tight lines all.

I've never done that much topwater fishing but i've been hearing how fun it is to see them strike so i bought some topwater lures when i was at bass pro shops a couple of weeks ago in florida including some hula poppers. Went out saturday at sunset lake in greenfield hoping to test them out but was having too much fun on 6" watermelon seed lizards so i didn't get a chance too, this saturday i'll test them out though.

i'd be in for a get together as well.

Haven't been able to go fishing much. Been to busy study for my series #7 and #63 financial representative licenses. But have gone out to turtle pond in concord a couple of times at night and have done well with black colorodo spinnerbaits. Also i just bought my first real boat. A Tracker grizzly with a 25hp, with a custom built interior, including a console, gps fishfinder, trolling motor and casting deck. It's only a 14 footer but it's great for my needs.

Tight lines everyone. -Chuck

Howdy gents, it's been a long time.  Happy to hear everybody's still getting out.

So the last time I was actively following this string, there was some talk of largemouth in Merrymeeting lake............. :-?

I ran into Toyotaguy last evening and we were discussing this, so today I called my Father-in-law, who summers in New Durham, and he went down to the fishery located at the outflow of Merrymeeting.  The fisheries director explained to him that the last 5 years' worth of kreel counts in the lake yielded no largemouth and in fact, you'd have a better chance of catching a Peacock bass there than a largemouth.  Or perhaps a Coho or Dolly Varden. ;)

Combine this info. with my near 500+ hours fishing this lake and countless friends who've fished it more than me, (none of us EVER landing a largie) and I think you can put this one to bed.

As I posted awhile back.....IF, on the miracle of God, there swims a largemouth bass in Merrymeeting, you'd most certainly find it at the very back reaches of the lake in the muck and stumps and not near the dam/launch, especially in the Spring.  That potential largie water is quite a paddle from the launch in a blue canoe. ;D

I love my largmouth.  Have better luck with them and have landed some real pigs.  That being said, I hope I never see one in Merrymeeting.  There aren't enough pure smallie lakes left in the state and those few really produce some hawgs.  There are plenty of largie only lakes.  Save the bronzebacks!!!

Hey Ya'll, I've had some nice luck in the bedford/merrimack area recently. The question I have is if anyone's had any luck fishing the merrimack river? That might be a stupid question, but I've always heard stories of there being some lunkers hanging out in certain area's of the river. Do tell... Also, I'd be game for a southern NH gathering, just gotta know which lake and when.

I've been having some pretty good luck lately. Good numbers but mostly in the 1-2lb range. Hoping to stick something a bit bigger before the end of the season.

The Wilton reservoir continues to be a good spot for catching some decent LM's and last weekend I fished Haunted Lake in Francestown for a few hours. There was a real good early morning bite that shut down around 9:00am but in three hours I managed about a dozen LM's and one decent smallie which was surprsing because there are supposedly none in there. Ugly coloring on the Haunted Lake fish, maybe due to the stained water? It looked like a 139 acre bowl of iced tea with lily pads floating in it.

I tried to attach some pics i took on my cell of regular pictures i got developed cause my digital is broken so i was using a regular camera but the quality was really poor so you couldn't see much so i took them down but i'll be going fishing later today so i'll try and get some pics with my cell and post them tonight or tomorrow

Nice fish NHGuy!!  What were you using for bait if you do not mind me asking?

I've been hitting the rivers today on foot.  I've only fished the Contoocook below the dams in Hillsboro and below the Hopkinton Dam (Everet dam?).  Lots of fish (I think 3 smallies, 2 largies and a bluegill) but nothing big.  The biggest was a 1 lb largie this evening.  I caught them all on a Rapalla F9 in Gold.

Good morning....

I fished Ossipee yesterday and failed miserably.  I HATE that sandbox.  Suppose it didn't help that it was super hot and hazy, with a boat-load of PWC's and skiers churning up the lake.  I got out at 6am and fished until 11:30 with no luck.  Did see some pig smallies, but they seemed content with the huge schools of perch swimming around.

At any rate, does anybody fish this party lake?  I've got a tourny there in a couple weeks and could use some help.  I looked for structure for and hour or two, but all I found were some mid lake sand humps with little or no weeds around and only perch and kibbie hanging.  The river (Pine) looks pretty good, but for the constant flow of pontoon boats.  I'm interested in finding out where I might locate some gravel/rock structure.  I did make it up to Danforth pond from Ossipee, and it looked pretty good, but I was running out of time and didn't fish it much.  I've got a fancy new GPS sonar, so if anybody has some lat/long readings, I'd glady take them.

I'm sure I'll have to be looking deep for bigger fish, as the water temps there are in the low 80's.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx.

Hey jaystraw, soft plastics and jigs have been doing it for me lately. Tubes and creatures for plastics for the most part as I'm trying to break my senko habit. It's hard because they catch fish but I'm trying to broaden my horizons so I'm throwing more of what I hear are great baits but haven't worked for me so far...especially jigs. Now that I'm catching fish regularly with them I'm finding them harder to put down.
