baboosicbass08 Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 My weapon of choice for most the fish in my post above, this is what i caught every fish at night with: Quote
wagn Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Luvfishing, sounds like you've been trying alot of different stuff, maybe it's not the lures but the location. What have you been fishing? Sometimes i find myself focused on one type of structure or location because it looks "fishy" even when it isn't producing. Maybe try switching it up to some deeper water, or move from coves to points, or vice versa. Yesterday was a perfect example. I was fishing a river and kept fishin the side channels that had nice lillypad and grass growth. took me a couple of hours to figure out that the fish weren't there. Once i moved to the main channel and fished milfoil/grass lines that were in 4 foot of water dropping off into 9 feet, i caught 3 nice bass in just a few casts. It wasn't what i was fishing but where. if i only had time to find this pattern on more places in the river i wouldn't have ended up w/ only 4 fish for the day, and my dad with 1. hope this helps Quote
luvfishing Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Thnx, i will be going back out wed. night. Just got an order of some poppers, and a few small buzzbaits. Very frustating, because i've actually seen some nice bass swim right by my boat, while working my baits throught the weeds. 1 section ive been working is a real good size section bout 2 feet deep, and nothing but lilly pads with small open sections 2nd section is roughly 5-6 feet deep of thick lily pads, even worked the shore line, and around docks. thnx for the help Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Hey guys got out to sunset lake for a few hours today, got 3 largemouths and my first smallmouth for the year today , but she spit the hook right as i was bringing her in the boat . all on Carolina rigged watermelonseed lizards. Also a couple strange things happened one of the bass i caught only had 1 eye which was the first i had seen. And i was trolling in the middle of the lake and looked to my left and there was a good sized pickeral right on the surface of the water, literally right on the top of the water in the middle of the lake right next to my boat, and i saw fishing line in his mouth so i grabbed my pole real quick and started reeling but nothing, then I realized it was a broken line, so i went for the net to get the hook out of its mouth but he was gone. Heres the fish that was missing an eye: Quote
greg paradis Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Paradis here I like to fish around the Barrington area like North River Lake and Ayers. I got the attaced photo on North River lake. On July 5th about 6:45 pm on a purple and black jig. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Welcome aboard Greg, thats a nice fish you got there, whatd she weigh? Quote

Bass Tard Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Welcome aboard Greg, thats a nice fish you got there, whatd she weigh? It looks to be around a 4 pounder. Quote
llPa1nll Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 hey fellow NH fishing freaks, was great to get out on the water again. I had a great day out on the water. It also marks that my favorite type of fishing season has started. Frog Fishing! Nice to see everyone is getting out there and sticking some pigs. I might try and get out tonight for some night fishing if the weather is ok. Tight lines all... Quote
wagn Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Got out to a nice little pond in over in New Boston yesterday. I normally bring people who are new to fishing there because I know we will hook up on at least a few fish. The lake is one of those that is full of little one pounders but I've never caught anything big there. And as usual we caught 14 or so little bass in the couple of hours that we were there. However in our last spot right in this knarley tree by buddy Ian pulled out this hawg. It's his first fish over 1 pound and man was he excited here's a couple of other pics of the day Quote
luvfishing Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 hey guys, Got out with my brother in law, went to hermit lake today. Were nailing whie the sun was out. He caught 1 that was pretty close to 5lbs. Biggest one ive seen pulled outta there. I lost a pickerl of a lifetime for me,snapped my line about 2 ft from the boat. Next time im bringing my camera. Has anyone fished crystal lake, or manning lake in gilmanton? might hit one of those next week, for some where different Quote
Bass Tard Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I live very near both of those lakes. Both are good. You could also try Suncook lake in Barnstead. Very good fishing! Quote
luvfishing Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Ever fish silver lake belmont? Good size bass,if ya can get them to bite.lol so crystal, and manning are decent to fish, have 2 see which 1 he wants to try Quote
Bass Tard Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I have not fished Silver Lake. Is there a publc boat ramp? How do you get to it? Quote
luvfishing Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 more so for canoes, not trailers. Tough lil lake, could make a 100 cast in a area, not get a bite, then see a few 3-4lbrs come swimming out from there. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hey guys went out to baboosic lake yesterday for the first time in about 2 years, didn't get on the water until about noontime fished it til 4 30, so wasn't really a good time to fish, caught maybe 5 fish, biggest was maybe a little over 1 lb hahaha, it was awful, plus i got a really bad sunburn >, so wasn't the best day i've had on the water lol. Could barely move today due to the sunburn so i gotta rest up so i can get out there again soon. Quote
KlubbaT Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hey guys, was wondering if anyone here has ever fished Bunker Pond. It is part of the Lamprey River. Drove by it today on my way to Pawtuckaway Pond. Saw a fallen down tree in it and almost pulled over to fish it. But I already had plans to go check out Pawtuckaway for the 1st time with my buddy. Pawtuckaway was nice. Much better than Kingston State Park. Think I'm gonna head back over there tomorrow. Arrived there at 5 and wasn't getting any bites for a while. Then around 6 there were good size bass jumpin all around us. Fishing was good for about a half hour then they seemed to dissappear. I would recomend it to people like me who don't have a boat and can't find decent spots to fish from shore in SE NH. Quote
NHfroggin Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hey guys im a fellow NH fisher. I fish the smaller lakes in southern NH. I fished long pond in danville today. Caught 4 small ones around 1 pound and 1 good size one. I caught all of them on a texas rigged worm. Quote
jaystraw Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 It's nice to see a lot of folks getting out there! I've been kind of slacking on fishing. I went out the weekend of the 4th, but the tourists had taken the quiet out of ALL the spots I like to fish. I decided to take a little break for a couple weeks. But, I got out Sunday 6AM on Gould Pond and did well. Caught 6 LM's in about 3 hours...all off of cover of some sort. got blown off by 9:00am due to the wind, but it was nice to just be out catching...even with the 2 other boats out there (trout fishing). Fuzzy101prf Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I pulled this guy out of Dorris Pond in Manchester last night. This guy was a HOG! I was using a top water Rapala jointed thing-a-ma-bob. I was killing emSorry for the s*itty pic. It was late at night with a red flashlight and a cell phone camera Quote
wagn Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Fuzzy I know your pain. I caught my largest LM at night and didn't have a camera to take a pic with. tried to use my phone and all I got was a blob. Went out again today with my Dad and had a great day, pulled out 11 fish over all, with most in the 1 pound range, a couple of 2's and this 5.8 lber. Not the best pic, cell phone again, but this fish was a heck of a fight. doesn't look as big in the pic, but i weighed it, and swear i'm not lying. It was one fat fish Quote
KlubbaT Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Hey guys, I'm looking for a fishing partner to hit up Southern NH with. The person I've been going with now is too unreliable. We'll have plans to go at a certain time and he won't be ready until hours later. I'm busy weekends working (work for Shamrock Entertainment) but am free most of the week (Mon.-Thurs.). Usually fish very early morning from 4:30 A.M. - 7:00 A.M. or I start anytime after 4:00 P.M. Down for midnight fishing as well. Don't own a boat so I'm looking for fellow shore fisherman. Hit me up if you are interested. Peace Out. Quote
