fmoore Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Never got a weight on her. Caught flipping pads with a chigger craw in July. Quote
little_stephen Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 my biggest so far too.... sorry for the crappy picture quality. I shore fish. so i reeled this girl in..... standing on a half sunken log in a field of 5inch deep mud & silt muck..... got ahold of her, tossed my rod to solid ground. pulled out my phone and snapped a pitcure while nearly falling off my log. Got her a few weeks after ice out. on a fliping jig with a big beaver bait trailer. she was up shallow on a brutal day chasing bluegill & shinners i guess. found her holding tight next to a thick post in a series of support stakes up shallow. my best attempt to measure her figgured about 18inches. she was fat & B-E-A-Utiful! cold day.... only in the upper 40s. bluebird sky. cold front. windy! with chop so bad i almost got knocked off my log a few times. and the sun was just setting behind the tree line when she bit! basser89 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 22inches, 6lbs 9oz (the one in my avatar) caught on a texas rigged BPS Triple Ripple lizard, prespawn. Quote
MaineBassMan Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 My father's biggest smallmouth for the season was this 5 pound even. He caught it in a tourneymant too and It took lunker for the day. My biggest smallmouth was a pair that weighed 4 lbs 5 oz caught on the same day. Actually I just remembered that I caught three that weigh 4 lbs 5 oz My biggest largemouth was only 5lbs 2oz this season, weird fishing season. I actually caught two largies that weighed this much. They could of been twins. Caught a lot of nice 4 pounders though. The other 5 lbs 2 oz largemouth Quote
little_stephen Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Thats a nice october smallie! I really need to go target the football smallies up on lake erie. Ive got no reason not to....the lakes 40mins away from my new place and Ive got the gear to do it now. just gotta find a charter. Quote
Bass Junkie Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Approx. 5lbs, caught on the smallest Heddon Torpedo availible. No lie. Caught one right after the spawn that was around 41/2 lbs, but skinny as a rail. Prespawn or a month later she would've hit 6lbs...... Quote
nashua fisherman Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 me and the wife. fish were caught before we had a scale. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 I fish mainly for smallmouths as some of you know. Here are a couple of my better fish of this past season: Rough calculations indicate about 125 - 130 smallies were CPR'd by me in 2009. Most between 2 1/2 - 4 3/4 pounds. I've yet to break the 5 pound mark however, but I know the reservoir I fish has given up several in the 6+ range. And yes, I do dabble in largemouths occaisionally: Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 These are my four best of '09: 1-6lb-4oz largemouth, caught on a Rattle Head Spinnerbait, on 5/4/09 at 11:55 A.M. 2-6lb-1oz smallmouth, caught on Rattlin Rapala (Red Craw), on 5/29/09 at 9:30 A.M. 3-6lb even smallmouth, caught on a Rattle Head Spinnerbait, on 8/25/09 at 8:20 A.M. 4-6lb-5oz smallmouth, caught on an XCalibur Xr50 (Pearl Melon), on 9/5/09 at 7:35 A.M. My wife lost one at the boat, that had to be in the seven pound range. I keep lecturing to her about those wimpy hook sets. Falcon Quote
