Just an early heads up for everyone. The 2010 MD fishing expo is January 14-17 at the MD State Fair Grounds in Timonium, MD.

The 2 pro's that will be there are Todd Faircloth and Ish Monroe. Both are there on saturday only.

I might actually have to head over to see them give their seminars. I was pretty disappointed with the show this year and thought about not going back but with Todd and Ish being there, they may have changed my mind!

Yeah hjerk, like I said, I was disappointed with last years as well. In years past, they had the Berkley tank there and the pros would give their seminars from there. Made for a much better presentation than that little corner they had us in last year.  :-?  Hopefully, Todd and Ish are as approachable as some of the pros I've talked to in the past! I got some great one on one time with David Walker and Marty Stone on two different shows. I even got some good information from Woo Daves on another one too.

If the 2010 show is another disappointment, it'll take something major to get me back there again!

Sounds like a plan jake. If this one is as much as a disappointment as the last one (and I hope it isn't), it'll take nothing short of KVD being there to get me to go back again! LOL

I agree, this year better be better than last year or it will take a lot for me to make the hike and pay for a hotel in 2011. Basser89, I sent you a PM w/ my e-mail address to my cell if you want to meet up.

I am heading down on Saturday with a fishing buddy. He wants to see the pros and I want to see the new structure scan by Lowrance.

I have been going to this show since it was the 3rd annual. It has gotten worse every year but, only an hour drive for me. I can't think of any better places to be in January. I will be there Saturday at the Indian Head Charters table. If you go, ask for me there.

Hey Munkin, what did you think of the new Lowrance?

dave, where in the world was the Indian Head Charters? I looked for it today and never saw it.  :-?

I liked the Faircloth's jig seminar. Got to see Ish and Kevin Short was there as well. Overall though, I was disappointed.

Same isle as Ken Penrod booth. We were on a corner booth, in an intersection. Right behind Susquehenna Fishing Tackle. I was there from 9-5:30. Took a break to check out Ish Monroe and Todd Faircloth.

Only five booths with bass tackle. Four of them were lure specific. Only SFT had the entire selection of bass tackle. Counted ten salt water tackle booths.

That a $2400  :'(electronics upgrade is in my future.

Allen, are you looking at getting the HDS-10 unit? That one was pretty sweet! I'd love to get one but that'll be a little ways off. I'm over due for a trolling motor upgrade! I think I can make due with the HDS-8 model when I do finally upgrade there.

dave, I must have been blind! I completely missed it! I did see both of Faircloth's seminars. I was  mostly interested in his jig seminar. I got a little one on one time with him after that seminar to talk about a couple of bodies of water I fish. Very nice guy and was very helpful!!! I wasn't really into seeing Ish's seminar so I blew that one off to do a little shopping at SFT. I didn't realize that Kevin Short was going to be there as well. Saw him hanging out around the one boat dealer.

I went to the expo this year, but didn't buy anything. It was a waste of time for me, and probably not going back next year.

Anyone that have attened have actually bought anything? I can find better deals online than what they have listed.

Lee, when were you there?

I only bought 6 baits. A new color Bandit 100 series crankbait (that I couldv'e bought anywhere), a jerkabit by a company called Stillwater lures and 4 spinnerbaits. The spinnerbaits look identical to one I bought there several years ago before the company went out of business. Matter a fact, I think they're left overs from that company. The rubber bands holding the skirts on were dry rotted on a couple of them. No big deal for me since I zip tie all my skirts on.

Basser I was there on the 17th around noon. Most of the items were over priced, so I didn't buy any.

I was not impressed this year either, however it probably won't stop me from going next year as I stated previously. I had fun.
