As i have stated in some other reply's im new to this site and just got back into fishing this year. I have very limited amount of lures so far but i love to get out their and just see what i can do. So far this year i have only gotten one smallie on maybe 4 or 5 trips to the neighborhood pond. The pond has really nice fish in it i just cant seem to catch them. I am just curious if anyone else fishes or has fished down this way and has any ideas or suggestions for me. Anyway thanks for the help in advance and i am glad to be a part of the forum. Hope to get to know you all better over the ensuing time.  ;D

Although I am from Derwood MD, I am living about 15 minutes from Ocean City this summer, and can more than guarantee you that there are no smallmouth in Ocean City. What you caught was a largemouth  8-)

Sounds good... Sounds like their are good Crappie, LMB, and some other smaller specied in this pond i fish. Where do you fish here in OCean City?

I live around Millville. I fish a lot of the small lakes in the surrounding 25 miles. Millsboro, Betts, Trap etc.. lots of good bass in the lakes around here.

Hey I live in Ocean View and actually work in Ocean Pines. If your speaking of the South Gate pond yes there are some nice fish in there as I have seen some people catch some good sized bass in there.  As for other local ponds the above poster pointed some out in Delware although fishing from the bank at those spots is really limited and small boats really come in handy around here. Good luck and if you need any help send me a message sometime.

Hey good to see another local guy on here. I don't really know of any ponds or places to fish in the immediate area. When I had my boat I fished Trap and Ingrams pond alot.  Know I fish mainly in Ocean Pines or the more well known places in Sussex County. I fished a really good neighborhood pond in Lewes but was told by a security guard that it was for homeowners only. The pic in my avatar is from that pond. Send me a message and let me know where you fish, maybe I'll see ya out sometime. I am always looking for new places to fish or people to fish with.

i fish trap ALL the time.. there and millsboro pond, betts, and ingrams. I caught a 6lb from trap a week a go, followed by a 4lb, but fishing there is SLOW with the warm weather and algae muddying up the water...

Nice fish Joe, what kind of boat are you fishing out of? I am looking into getting another jon boat soon. I sold one when my son was born and really miss having it. Oh and if you know of any little ponds close by let me know ;)

I was fishing out of a 12ft v-hull. jon boats and v-hulls are great for all the lakes around sussex co.

I just posted to see if anyone is interested in fishing the Millsboro area tomorrow or Saturday. I'm coming down to buy a canoe. Are any of you guys still in the area and interested in heading out? I'm planning on either fishing Millsboro, Trap, Betts or Ingram Pond--or a small private pond if ya have one. Let me know if anyone wants to hook some lunkers
