skinyea Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 just found this websight today= plan on being here daily. just moved to columbia md. care to share any decent spots? Quote
fischt197 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I live in columbia also. I guess one question to ask is do you have a boat or not? Centennial Lake is about 50 acres in the middle of a great park off of Rt. 108. Good fishing from the bank and they have a boat ramp. Boats 16 ft. or less and electric only allowed. There are some great fish in there. Triadelphia Reservior would be the closest reservoir of the three major Baltimore area reserviors. The are all electric only. Rocky Gorge in just south down 29 or 95. Liberty is north about 30 minutes. Loch Raven is probably you best bet if you don't have a boat and want to fish a larger body of water. They rent jon boats daily for $25-$50 and is known as the best largemouth lake in the area. It's in northern baltimore. Check out google maps and look around the area for a good idea of where everything is. Hope this helps you get started. Tony Quote

fischt197 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I was going to head over there today myself. Which end of the lake were you on? Boat rental area or the deep end to the right of there? I've never caught a smallie out of Centennial before. There are large fish in there. I got my largest last year, 7lb. 4oz., right in the little cove right by the boat rental area. The topwater bite is great right before dark this time of year. Good luck! Quote

Good luck! i came in from the west entrance and walked down to the path. fished pretty much right up against the ropeline. where all the lilypads are. only thing is it was right on the path, tons of walkers/joggers Quote
