GobbleDog Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I saw this bait while I was shopping at Bass Pro the other day. It's called the Wacky Style Worm by the Kicker Fish Bait Co. It caught my eye, because I'm a Zoom Trick Worm kinda guy and the bait looks kinda similar. At the last minute I shook the monkey off my back and walked away. Anyone tried it? :-? Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 7, 2008 Super User Posted March 7, 2008 Nope. It does not interest me for wacky fishing. A Senko or finesse worm works great for me so I will stick with those. Glad the Bait Monkey did not bite you. But beware, he is out there, just watching and waiting for you to go back to BPS. Quote
CJ Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I got a buddy who uses em'. I'll probally get some. He fishes a big one on a c-rig. The extra segment allows you to t-rig the hook. Quote
arthurspooner13 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 It looks like a mouthguard. Wouldn't there be some concern that they might not get to the hook? Quote
CJ Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Wouldn't there be some concern that they might not get to the hook? I've never had a concern with bass not getting to the hook. When they eat something...they eat it! Just like a regular wacky rig, the fish that were caught on this worm appeared to have hit it broadside. Quote
HesterIsGod Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I've never used it but the only time I would use it would be extremely heavy cover where I could not use an exposed hook. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted March 8, 2008 Super User Posted March 8, 2008 I've tried them. My problem with them is there is no big strong worm hook for handling big bass in cover that will fit within the appendage. Quote

I bought some and fully agree with Wayne P, the appendage is only about 1 inch long and the action was lack luster. Quote

Just_Old_Fisherman Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Been using them on occasion for over a year. A 2/0 Gammakatsu offset fits very well and is plenty strong. My lake is primarily salt cedar and mesquite and I have managed fish up to 8# on this bait. Best way to fish wacky style in heavy cover. Like the Green Pumpkin with both ends dipped in Chart Spike-it. Quote

Madhouse27 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Wayne, that's some good looking wacky you got there brother. Quote
