MJEFF Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I am in MA. but I have to say I love your city, I have been going to Montreal for 25yrs , to the Grand Prix..... made some very nice friends up there. Believe me I am not a city lover but we really enjoy staying there. We often would take the metro and just get off somewhere and walk and see the sights. Love that place. Jeff Quote
princecraft papa Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 njeff, it is a great place to be, I am about 30 min. outside of town, surrouded by 3 lakes & 4 large rivers. almost fishing paradise, if not for the 6 months of winter! I have friends that live in Glouster, Mass. that anywhere near you? PM me next time you come to Montreal, I usualy get out at lrast 3 times a week, sometimes I have an empy seat Quote
RookyHooky Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I was always curious about fishing in montreal. my uncle lives there and when I visit him, I always stare at the lakes and rivers...tell me about the fishing there! Quote
princecraft papa Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 rooky hooky, the fishing here is awesome! it is unbelievable if you are a multi-species fisherman. the only drsg about fishing in Quebec is the fact that I literaly have 1000 lakes within a 2 hour drive, 90% of them have no public access! but that means I still have 100 lakes to fish! I live on the western tip of the island of montreal,so I will usualy fish the waters out here, if you know what part of town your uncle lives in I will be able to give you more ibfo I fish; St.Lawrance river-bass(s&l),pike, musky, carp, sturgen lac St.Louis-sm bass, pike lake of two mountains-bass,wallye,pike,gar,carp ottawa river-bass,musky you should also look into fishing lake Camplain(Vt,NY,Que) truly unbelievable fishing! is the fishing good around here? last year I went out 83 times(I keep a fishing log)usualy for 3-4 hours, I got skunked only once! MJEFF Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Glouster is about an hour north of me as it is along what we call the north shore, I am south of that and inland about 35 miles. We are planning a trip to Montreal one of these days this year and I will be in touch as I would love to get out on the water. Thanks. jeff Quote
