webhawk26 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I was wondering if anybody has had any luck on Little Ossipee yet this year? What has worked for you in the past on this lake and what are the hot spots on the lake? I am new to Maine and that is the closest lake to me. Thanks! Quote
hawgwalker Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 It is a pretty easy lake to fish; I usually start at the point as it dog legs to the left. That shoreline has some deep wood and good docks. The whole lake is fishable though. We caught some nice brookies at the outlet the other night fishing for bass. It is too busy for me in the summer but can be awesome at night. Arrowhead, Sokokis, Hancock Pond, Little Sebago and Mousam are some others to try that are not too far Quote
MEbasserJQ Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I am going to fish little ossipee this saturday. i was going to fish it last saturday but i went to dundee pond instead. Wasn't a good choice, they only followed my bait to the boat I couldn't buy a bite. I am going to try jigs and jerkbaits and spinnerbaits this saturday. You should try fishing arrowhead it is close to ossipee and good bass lake too. Quote
webhawk26 Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 How did you do Hogclipper? Any tips would be great. Thanks! Quote
MEbasserJQ Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted by: webhawk26 Posted on: May 2nd, 2009, 8:46pm How did you do Hogclipper? Any tips would be great. Thanks I caught 3 largemouth they all came from under docks. I caught them all on a black and blue jig with a yum trailer. I pitched the jig under the docks and let it sit there for about 10 sec. then gave it shake. They would usually hit it after the shake. I only could fish a couple of hours because i went after work. If you go out there on a sunny day I would throw a spinnerbait too. Quote
webhawk26 Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 I fished it the other day and only caught 2 on a pumpkin senko. I seen alot of bass but most were cruising or locked on beds and were not interested in any offerings. Most were under docks or in the backs of coves. I fished Arrowhead the other night and we were catching them on pumpkin senkos also. We hooked up with 6 in a matter of an hour. Thanks for all the tips and I will post some more on here as I fish it some more. Quote
webhawk26 Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 Webt on Arrowhead again tonight for a couple of hours and caught 2 largemouths (1 was close to 2 pounds) and 2 pickerels. Caught them all on a pumpkin swim senko. I tried spinnerbaits, swimbaits, crankbaits and the only thing they would bite is the senko. Quote
webhawk26 Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 Went out on Ossipee on thursday and caught a 4 pounder on a swim senko. I also caught a couple of dinks on a spinnerbait. Starting to get a idea that these Maine bass love senkos. Quote
