Triton21 Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I love to fish a Senko wacky. I shy away from using Yamamoto Senkos because I can catch only one maybe two bass on one. I have been using stiko's from BPS because they are tougher. I now have changed and am going to fish the original Senko more. I bought a O-Ring kit off Ebay. They came in the mail today so I had to try them out in my pond. I caught 10 bass in about 45 minutes and the Senko is still useable. Kelley Quote
Super User cart7t Posted June 19, 2007 Super User Posted June 19, 2007 When I'm fishing them Wacky style I wouldn't think of NOT using the O-rings. If you don't have one of the O-ring tools you should get one. Makes sliding those things on a real snap. Quote
SDoolittle Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I read in a magazine (Bassmaster I think) how you could save money by cutting up a tube to make your own o-rings. I tried it out a couple of weeks ago and it worked pretty well. Didn't cost me anything either. I cut them into 1/2" rings and one tube provides several rings. Quote
Gorgebassman Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I was looking through my bass pro shops summer fishing catalog I got in the mail today and saw a tool for putting on O rings is this the tool that your talking about cart? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=95042&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults I thought it was a great idea just wasnt sure how well they work. bassbob08 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I use wave worms and dont use o rings, and have never used them,I fish them untill they fall appart and put on another one.I save the old ones and when I need a different color, or just dont have any more I go into my used box and start again.I hook it off center, weedless or just bite off the end and keep fishing. No messing with anything but fishing. abelfisher Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I love fishing wacky style. Never tried the metal o-rings, but have tried the rubber ones. Work fairly well. I just cant seem tot find the right size for the 7 inch Senkos in Qty without paying a crazy price for singles. ANyway, another way I have WRigged is with small black cable ties. I wrap the Senko fairly tight and clip the tag end off. I keep the snap on the bottom with the octpus hook on top. No prblem catching them. Also, I always use new senkos for T-Rigging, then once they get torn up they go into my WR pack. So I always have a fresh but torn Senkos for WRigging. Do you guys find the metal o rings tear the Senkos up quicker. ie no give like the rubber ones when a fish attacks? Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 abelfisher, what size Oring do you need for the 7" bait you're throwing? One of my club members works for a company that makes Orings and he should be able to get some for me. Brad Quote

Super User dodgeguy Posted June 19, 2007 Super User Posted June 19, 2007 buy bill m's tool.it's made of brass and won't corrode. http://www.wackytool.com/ Quote
twors Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I bought one off eBay for 10 bones and its plastic. It works well but I feel pretty ripped off being that this thing probably didn't cost more that 75 cents to make...including the plastic bag and header card! Well, at least I know that it will float if dropped into the water.....can't say that about brass or aluminum. Quote
links_man2 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Best price I found for rubber O-rings is at Lowes $1.29/10, next was Home Depot $1.97/10 and they were same brand as Lowes. They were in the Plumbing supply section, small clear boxes with 10 o-rings. They had a fair selection of sizes and were much cheaper than auto parts stores who wanted $.40-$.50 PER o-ring. Quote

Triton21 Posted June 19, 2007 Author Posted June 19, 2007 I guess I got a deal. Mine on Ebay was $16.00 shipped for 8 plastic bags of 50 o-rings and a plastic tool in each. Comes to $2.00 a pack ea. Kelley Quote
captbob Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I just use small rubber bands, buy in a CVS store for 1.50 bag of 100's, women use them in their hair-I think- if too loose just double them over, hold them open around two fingers while you lower the worm through. Lots of other uses for these rubber bands, can hold anything to a hook. Quote
bugman Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 $5 + shipping for the tool ? I have a pen holder on my desk that is fullof them! LOL Quote
