HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I often wondered how many T's were held, as well as the numbers and quality of fish that were caught thoughout Mass. So, for the past two years I've been keeping track and thought you might find this info interesting as well. Quote
Super User Tin Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 WOW, it's offical. Fishing sucks in Massachusetts as well as Rhode Island.. ;D And the average fish in Webster is 1.7 pounds??? I would have figured it was about .7 pounds. Quote
WTRDOG Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 With all the 5lb smallies everyone says they catch, esspecially down the Cape. The chart shows they are almost non existant.I have fished alot of torneys in MA with some great anglers involved and have never seen a 5lb smallie weighed in. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Makes me feel a little better about the fish I'm catching. LMAO! Quote
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 You have to keep these figures in mind : 2007 a 33% particapation rate 2008 a 32% particapation rate. Meaning 77% in 2007 and 78% in 2008 of all club T's held over the corresponding years didn't participate in the study. That's an aweful lot of unregistered fish. These figures donot include the average angler or weekend worrior. I've caught plenty of 5lb bass out of Webster and numerous Smallies over 4 and the same holds true for Long Pond Harwich. Long Pond Harwich is a HAWG producing heaven and I haven't been in a T there when multiple 4's & 5's have been brought to the scales. Quote
Matt 825 Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Someone caught a 5+ smallie at a T at Mashpee-Wakeby Saturday. I think it was like 5.6 Quote
Pondtooner Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 That's some interesting information. Where could I get a copy of that report I can only see 1 side at time and am easily confused. Quote
