Well finally got a chance to take the boat out to Black Hills yesterday, was slow most of the day but managed to get 7 total mostly dinks with the best of the day 15 inches. The water temps were about 57 in the main lake, with 61 in some of the small coves. Tried everything I could think of but all bass were caught on a 4 inch watermelon senko, they really didn't "bite" just weight when I went to move the bait. Ended up also losing 4 bass.

The interesting part of the day was while I was using a Red Eye Shad in sexy shad. The was was only about a foot deep but dropped quickly to about 10-15ft. A lot of baitfish were showing on the fish finder, so I casted into the shallower and yo-yoing it down the dropoff. Thought I got stuck but it started swimming. After a tough fight I landed the 8lb 11oz carp, was shocked to see it was actually lip-hooked. Not what I was after but it was fun.

Well let me know what day you might make it, with my currently work schedule I am off thursday and friday each week. So that is when I am doing most of my fishing, was in training last week so didn't go until saturday.

With the water temp's I think the ones I got were males preparing to spawn, should (hopefully) pick up pretty soon on larger fish.
