No luck yet. I've fished from shore a couple times on lakes that iced out a couple days previous and there was a weird green moss-type thing growing in the shallows that looked bad.

Went out to one of my ponds on Saturday with fishizzle, threw everything imaginable (jerkbaits, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, dropshot, lipless cranks) in every area without a bite :)

They just need a few more days of warm weather I think...or I need to learn how to fish 8-)

1st bass of '09 yesterday. Small one, but it felt great to catch  8-)

Got out today.  Air temp about 47, water temp 46 minus a tenth or two.  Cloudy, calm when I started.

Spinnerbait one bass about two pounds.  Chatterfrog another about the same size.

Switched to a half ounce Strike King jig, black with blue flash and a flappin hog watermelon with red flake trailer.

Second cast a six pound, roe laden female.  Caught six more from two to four pounds on the jig, making the total eight for the day.

The wind kicked up, started to rain, called it a day on the pond about noon.

For the second time already this year, I have caught the biggest bass in my life .  For most of you guys it doesn't sound like much, but for the lake I got it out of it, is huge.  2 lb. 12 oz.  I was kind of disappointed actually.  When I pulled her out of the water I thought for sure she was a 3, 3 and a half pounder :'(.  I caught a 2 lb 8 oz bass on Tuesday and this one was wayyyyyyyyyyy fatter.  When I go to work on Monday I am going to calibrate the scale and see if it is off.  Even though it is probably dead on just like it was 6 months ago when I checked it.

Ill have a pic as soon as my buddy Swilly78 sends me the pic he took on his phone.

ZERO...........ZIP............NADA!

I've been out three times, just on the Erie canal, and have came out with nothing. I've thrown pretty much anything at 'em, even live minnows and worms.

I need to get rid of this need to catch fish soon or I'm going to go CRAZY!

I've been out weekends for about the last four weeks. A lot of dinks, a few crappie and a foul hooked 8# carp that had me thinking PB until I saw what it was.

BTW, the biggest bass for me so far (about 2.5 #) came on a wacky rigged 2" senko. Go figure  :)

I can now say I have caught one! Got it a couple of hours ago on a booyah boo jig in the Erie Canal. I'll have a pic once my friend figures out how to get pics on to his computer from his phone!

Went out to my local pond here in Southeast Mass yesterday from 2:30 to 4. Was in a kayak, and it was blustery and the air temp was dropping, but I just had to wet a line for the first time this year.

Water temp was 44. Tried a jig for a while, but got nothing. Switched to what has become my favorite early spring bait: a gold Husky Jerk. Very soon after, I landed my first LMB of the year: 3lb, 10oz. Caught a second, much smaller LMB shortly afterward, then headed home.

That HJ (any color with some flash will do) has produced some quality fish early in the season for a few years now. The key is to work it slow: let it sit and then give it a twitch to show the flash. That's usually when they hit it. Once the vegetation comes in, I put it away until next March . . .

I'm gonna take a shower and head down to the river now and see whats up. Pretty much the first time fishing this season so i hope for something!

Hey CRFisher, where were you fishing the Charles? I'm in Allston so it's right down the road, nothing like a little urban angling, right? Larrys, spare tires, dead bodies, the Charles has so much to offer!

I was up at Twin Coves near Brandeis in Waltham.  I had good luck in the stretch between Watertown Square and Brighton last year, near the boat club.  Hoping to get out heavily during the herring run this year to see if I can catch some stripers.
