BlueDaksi Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I'm new here - saw that there were some fellow NY Anglers and so thought I'd start here. I'm an avid kayak angler in the Finger Lakes Region. A couple of my buddies and I are actually in the process of starting an informal "club" to promote the sport of freshwater kayak fishing. The technology for kayaks have changed in response to angler demands and you wouldn't believe where you can go and what you can catch while fishing from a kayak - they are incredibly stable! Here is information for our kickoff - Join us if you are interested and can make it! Here is the "official" announcement for an informal meet and greet that we have scheduled to think about forming a Western NY Kayak Fishing Association... Whether you've been fishing from a yak for years or have ever wondered can you really fish from one of those things?, join us for an informal Western New York Kayak Fishing Meet and Greet:7:30pm on Friday, 20 March 2009 at the GANDER MOUNTAIN Store in Henrietta, NY 300 Jay Scutti Blvd., Rochester, NY, 14623, (585) 424-4100 Even if you have never kayak fished before (or even been in a kayak), come to learn more about one of the fastest growing outdoor sports in the World. Or, if you are an experienced kayak angler, come meet others like yourself to swap fishing stories and share information. Who knows? We might even decide that we can tolerate each other and start thinking about getting together once in awhile to go out on some joint kayak fishing trips! For more info, contact Paul by my email listed on this forum. We also plan to show a 25-minute feature premiere of the epic new movie, Kayak Fishing: Game On! If you want to know the limits of what kind of fish can be caught from a kayak, this is the movie to see. -Paul Quote
Panamoka_Bassin Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Wrong, I mean, Long Island here. More specifically, Suffolk County Been a while since I've been on the site, but it's nice to see I'm not alone in living in Suffolk! Can't wait to get warmed up and nail some of those Lake Forge bass! Quote
