Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 This year we have seen a huge growth of members from our area. Much of this comes from CAST For Kids coming to the Northeast and I want to thank all the folks here who have helped spread that word. You are what CAST is all about. Anyway,...I wanted to start a thread where we can all throw up a quick bio, even if it's just your name, where you are from and what you have to offer. I've met some AWESOME guys via the board,...many live close by. I've learned from many and enjoy all the friendships so far so I figured I'd start 1 thread we can all go to when we have an open seat and might want to meet someone new to fish with, so here it is. Please do not reply after you have posted your bio. This thread is not for replies, just "willing to fish" postings. All replies will be deleted, any questions you have for each other should be handled by PM. *Do not post personal phone numbers on the board, again, use the PM function. Please post a pic of yourself also I'll start Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 Russ Thetonia 41, East Greenwich, RI I fish primarily semi private water in RI but am willing to fish anywhere, any time. (Elec only) I don't do tournaments but but will participate in fund raisers and "pick up" tourny's between friends Non-smoker but smoking doesn't bother me at all. You can smoke in my truck and in my boat. I usually do 4 hr shifts roughly. I fish ALOT at night once it's warm out I am out of work by 11am during the week (UPS) (yes, I know Mike Wolfenden [get that out of the way now] lol) Available for saltwater also (15' Boston Whaler CC jet- East Greenwich) Quote
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Paul G. Arrighie 46. Live in Pawtucket. Fish freshwater only, for LM and SM with SM being my passion. Though, Pike fishing has peaked my interest this year. 12' Jon w/55lb thrust trolling motor. Throw everything from finesse to Swimbaits. Love to fish Tourney's, well most of the time. But enjoy outings w/friends and newbies even better. My ussual outing will run at least 8-10 hours, or until the batteries die. My season ends when the ramps freeze up. If I have an open seat anyone is welcome aboard. WoW, I finally beat Tin @ something Quote

Super User Tin Posted November 12, 2008 Super User Posted November 12, 2008 Mike Broggi Jr, 19 I live in Western Coventry/West Greenwich on the Connecticut line. 1999 17' Tracker Pro Team I fish lots of tourney's. Yes, I'm a typical TD. Up until around late June I stay local and fish Eastern Connecticut lakes and all over Rhode Island. After that I'm on the road fishing big tournies on the big water. I love Champlain and sacking up big bags of smallies. I rarely fun fish, it is usually all tourney's or pre-fishing for tournies. Usually sun up to sun down on the weekends and anytime during the week I can get out. I can do just about anything, from pitching jigs into nasty cover to drop-shotting in 60'. Quote
Dorkus Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Chad 23 Split time between South shore MA and Seacoast NH, so I get licenses for both each year. Fish out of a john on small waters. Got into trophy hunting in the last couple years which entailed learning how to toss swimbaits and fish a jig the right way. Searching for that big bite. Will do tourneys from time to time but big bass for my own satisfaction is what I'm hunting. I fish long days because I usually have a long drive so I need to make those trips worth it. I'll fish with anyone. Quote
bassinri Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Anthony Palumbo 40, Cranston, RI Home Pond, or acutally puddle, Meshanicut lake. People laugh at the place cause its so tiny but it gets so overfished its a challenge to catch anything nevermind a big one Fishing for 35 years. Seriously the last 20 I fish all over RI and Mass mainly I like fishing frendly tournaments as well as an ocassional serious one I am a rubber worm fisherman primarly but have been getting into Swim Baits more lately especially after lisitening to Paul , Russ, Dave and the other Swim Bait guys that make me go to the store and spend big money on super realistic baits that require new rods and new reels and to find certain lakes but they dont like them in the fall, Ooh sorry I was being called by the SB's. OK where was I... My main species that I pursue is largemouth bass. My personel best is 8 Lb 3 oz. I never brag but Im proud of it so I had to mention it I mainly fish out of my 11 foot Low Budget Cadillac Cradad that Ive had since new in 1987. Electric motor, fishfinder, cup holders and Im in Heaven I'm self employed and sell vintage toys and other antiques on Ebay so I get out on the water 6 days a week. Im always into meeting new fishing freinds especialy when you get out as much as I do A recent catch at Cooks. Its been a real slow fall for me. Quote
Matt 825 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Matthew LeBlanc 30 Rockland, MA I fish in SE Mass and on Cape Cod almost exclusively except for in the summer when I do a lot of fishing at Champlain & Winnipesaukee. I fish a handful of tournaments each year and do the State championships for BASS and FLW each year as a non boater. I have a 11' Jon boat and a 14' Jon boat and have a couple friends with Bass boats so I split my time between my boats and theirs. I make my own soft plastics, Jigs and Rods, although I am always behind on what I need to make. lol I am obsessed with smallmouth but seem to spend just as much time fishing for Largemouth. My favorite techniques are Drop Shot, Jig, Topwater & Silver Buddy. I love fishing offshore strcture and using my electronics to find fish. I fish every Saturday, Sunday, Holiday or day off I have from Sunrise to Sunset. I fish until there is ice, and then I will ice fish or go way down the cape to fish open water. I have fished or have information on almost every body of water in Plymouth and the Cape (especially the smaller HP restricted places) so if you have a question about a pond just ask me and I can probably help you out or at least point you in the right direction. masssilversrt4 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 David Albernaz 28 Swansea, MA I just got back into regularly fishing this year and bought a big boat. I fish from shore almost every day at work. During the summer/weekend I get out as much as possible. I have a 12' Jon that I picked up this year and will be building over the winter. A 15' Mirror Craft V-hull that I use at smaller ponds and a 95' Tracker that I fish at larger ponds/lakes. I mainly fish SE Mass and also fish RI spots as I work in RI. I am hooked on the Swimbait craze and plan on throwing them at all times. I enjoy meeting new fishing people and have fished with multiple people on this board. Pick up tourneys and such. If anyone wants to get out i'm always willing to go and enjoy learning new tips/techniques. I'm still looking for a fish over 4lbs this year so if anyone wants to help me beat my PB please pm so I can get one before the end of the year. If anyone needs help with their boat ect I'm a very hands on person and enjoy tinkering. Here are some pics from this year. Quote

I get down out of a Coleman Crawdad that stands me about $50. I run an electric trolling motor (Thanx to my man Tin) I'm always down for whatever. Usually ready to go anywhere in a moments notice. I toss the boat in the bed of the truck and I'm gone. I fish almost every single weekend from ice out till Thanxgiving. 100% for fun, unless there's a cartopper tourney for bragging rights. My favorite Bass techniques are swimming a jig in open water, shakey heading, burning lipless crankbaits, and tossing soft plastics, creature baits etc. For saltwater I enjoy throwing bucktails, tins, wooden plugs (Danny's etc.) Quote

Tokyo Tony Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Hisaaki (Chaki) Kobayashi, Central CT 15' Canoe with a flat back, trolling motor. Very stable, two fishermen can comfortably fish standing up as long as you have some experience standing in canoes, and as long as you aren't 6'5" 300 lbs. From ice-out until mid-fall I fish almost every day, mostly from shore during the week, and I'll take the canoe out on the weekend or fish on a friend's boat. I've found a bunch of awesome, small ponds that are great for shorefishing, and in the late fall to late winter I do a lot of trout fishing on the Farmington River to get my fix. I prefer fishing small little-known ponds, but often take the canoe out to bigger lakes in the spring and summer. Often go up to NH to go float-tubing in the summer. Gotta love mountain smallies. Might start fishing a couple tourneys next year as a non-boater, but for me fishing is mostly for fun. If you find yourself in Central CT or anywhere close and want to fish, send me a PM 8-) New picture - a salmon I caught 11/29 ;D Quote

Bassnajr Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Great idea Russ...now go get a HAIRCUT!!!! Hey all.. My name is Alan Ross (bassnajr) and I am from Johnston, Rhode Island. I am married and have 3 daughters (Now you know why I fish!!!) I am a recently retired police detective, 25 years service. My fishin buddy and police partner, Zen Bassin, were involved in an on duty accident which ended our careers but got us back into fishing as something to do. Trout fishing led to bass fishing and, well...he I am. I enjoy all kinds of bass fishing. Club level, local tourneys, but mostly, just fishing with buddies and Zen Bassin. In the last 18 months, I have set myself goals in bass fishing, and have had success in meeting them all. So I have a NEW set for 2009. Zen Bassin and I are co-owners of a2 001 20' Procraft Pro 205 bass boat and a 10' Bassraider, so we fish ALL aspects of bassin. I look forward to learning more every day from folks here and being on the water, and I always have an open seat for anyone who wants to get out!!! Peace!! Alan Quote

I fish mostly bigger Cape lakes, but now that I've got the Crawdad I'm looking to get into some of the more out of the way, small places. I fish artificial lures, and I'm trying to get more into swimbaits. I rarely fish tourneys, mostly only fish them when my dad needs a fill-in partner. My normal outing will last 4-6 hours, depending on the bite. I'd like to meet some new guys / fishing partners, since I almost always fish by myself. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted December 7, 2008 Super User Posted December 7, 2008 Tom Liggin 67 Westport, MA My favorite, and most productive (makes sense, right?) hole is a private pond in Westport, MA. I have unlimited access and permission to bring a friend whenever I'd like. This pond is what I will gladly share with other members. Great bass fishing. Want panfish to eat. The pond is loaded with white perch, many of them over a pound. Great pickerel fishing at times, with huge pickerel, 30" or larger. That's Devol Pond roughly a quarter mile across and just over a half mile long. Other ponds I fish are Sawdy, just a few hundred yards west of Devol on the Westport/Tiverton border. MA or RI license is legal. Stafford Pond in Tiverton, not ten minutes from Sawdy. Cook Pond in Fall River. South Watuppa with access to the south end of the pond via a friend's property. That's the end most boats run to when there is a tournament. Lake Noquochoke in Dartmouth. Like to meet new folks, try new places, learn new things, and share my experiences with others. 16 foot Old Town canoe. Paddle power. Will throw anything that will catch fish. Favorites include Mepps Black Fury spinners sizes 3 and 4 with red or chartreuse polka dots. Mepps fire tiger with yellow/chartreuse bucktail 3 and 4. Spinnerbaits, Chatterfrogs, Storm swimbaits, Senkos and other plastics, Heddon Zara Super Spook Jr. topwater black. Need to learn Jigs and Crankbaits. Tried 'em, never got a bite. Never done any night fishing on freshwater. Like to try that. Semi-retired. Easy going. Can pretty much accomodate any schedule. Been a foreman in a production woodworking shop, a commercial lobsterman for more than twenty years, and since '95 made fiberglass race car bodies. I generally fish 3 - 5 hours, but can handle longer or shorter excursions. Would like to do some home and home deals. Contact me with a private message or email. Quote
