Tony Lopez Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Looking for whatever kind of info I can get for fishing Bow Lake. I'm gonna hit it up this weekend and wanted to gather some info from people that have been there lately. Thanks! Quote
Tony Lopez Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 I never made it up there... The "honey do" list grew... Quote
Tony Lopez Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 i'm surprised not a single person is fishing this lake... Quote
spin king Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I went over to Bow Lake for a few hours last night....nothing. I threw the whole arsenal and didn't get anything. I've fished there before and caught nice largemouth and smallmouth, but the past few times I've been have been pretty slow. Did you end up getting over there Tony? Quote
Tony Lopez Posted September 10, 2008 Author Posted September 10, 2008 I fished there last weekend and did very very well... We fished open water as well as docks and shallow structure. Drop shotting, buzz baits, and hula grubs killed em... Between myself and my buddy, we took about 35 smallies and 5 largemouth in about 24 hours... Quote
spin king Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 What depth were the majority of the fish at? Quote
Tony Lopez Posted September 15, 2008 Author Posted September 15, 2008 The smallies were between 10 and 65 feet of water and the largemouth were all off of docks, weeds, and rocks in fairly shallow water. Quote
fishinfergy Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 fished there last friday, the fishing was slow with some decent largies off docks, the smallies were not so active on the other hand Quote
llPa1nll Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I fished there a few years back and well I could have stayed home and cast my rods into a nice patch of poison ivy and at least I would have caught something. That place has always given me a headache. :-/ Quote
fishinfergy Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 i guess they call it slow bow, but nothing like a good challenge Quote
wagn Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I fished a tourney at bow a couple of years ago. We must have seen over 100 fish swimming in the shallows and could not catch them no matter what we did. I've never had such a frustrating experience as that before. I only hooked up with one fish the whole day and she broke off. My partner caught 2 small keeper....and won the tourney. Slow Bow indeed Quote
spin king Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Wow. Glad to know I'm not the only one struggling at Bow. Any of you guys fish Northwood Lake? Quote
wagn Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Only been to Northwood once. It was really early in the season. I didn't catch anything and the fishing was slow but I think that had alot to do with the water being so cold. A couple of guys caught their limit but nothing big Hope this helps Quote
GRIZZ Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Boy does that place bring back memories... Bow lake back in the 70's had some nice smallies in it at one time. If you every get a chance, take a swim there and check out the smallies with a snorkel mask on.Use to feed the smallies out of my hands with live worms when I was a young lad of 7/8 years old. The place still have all the docks on it??? Because thats were WE USE TOO FIND THEM Good luck Quote
