MikeMc Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Does anyone know a good launch to use on Champlain around the Mallet's Bay area? I've been to the lake a bunch of times but have only gone out of Ticonderoga, Plattsburgh, and i've gone out of Appletree marina in VT. Is there a public launch around Burlington / mallet's? Thanks alot Quote
Super User Tin Posted September 16, 2008 Super User Posted September 16, 2008 There is a huge launch in Inner Mallets free of charge. Think it is a state ramp, we have held 80 boat tournies out of there. I would recommend Apple Tree just north of Sandbar if you plain on running through the Inland Sea or to the NY side, easier to go through the gut. Quote
UPS VT Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Yes that is a state launch. This time of year it should not be to busy. It is a mob scence on weekends during the summer with all the pleasure boaters that don't know how to launch or load their boats. It has 4 lanes so even when it is busy you can still launch and load fairly quickly. Quote
westpalmfrogpunk Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 we used the public launch at the sandbar the other day. Its quiet and has easy access to the whole lake. No crowd but it is a sand based lauch. We had no issues with lauching a full sized ranger from there. Quote
