It's on! 9PM to 5AM, 08/30/08 They did request we try to be as quite as possible though and he didn't want to recieve any calls from the waterfront community or my ability to obtain future permits would be in jepordy :-? I said we would be on our best behavior
masssilversrt4 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 So no bottle rockets for celebration... !!!!!
Super User Tin Posted August 18, 2008 Super User Posted August 18, 2008 I am also up in the air right now. Wallumn Lake is not an easy fishery during the daylight at the best of times, never mind at night. It's kind of a drop shot ,deep crank place etc........ It is if you can throw a tube and drop-shot. And one other thing. :-X And daylight might be a better choice depending on the water level, that place is a mine field., I can see some trolling motor shafts being bent. If that's the case.............can I borrow your baot for this event? ;D I'm away, take it if you want.

HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Seeing that the permit came from MA we should use the ramp in Douglas MA to launch and wiegh-in. Permit will be for 10 boats and 10 vehicles. Paper work goes in the mail tomorrow
WTRDOG Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Paul, Thanks for taking care of all the legalities.Just one more thing you need to take care of........My parole officer needs you to sign some paperwork in regards to my fishing the night of the torney.. :'( Also,so as not to scare guys away that are afraid to put a scratch on their boat,Wallum is not a mine field of rocks 90% of all the rocks you need to worry about are within 10 yrds from the bank..I take that back all of the one's you REALLY need to know about are in deeper water and you'll never hit them with your motor but you should hit them with your bait's....
emti56 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 should i not but my boat in this lake if i have never been there i do not mind a scatch or two but like to stay afloat until its paid for and that should be about never

WTRDOG Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 Emti 56....You'll be fine,I don't think your going to want to drive around full speed in the dark away.Rocks are close to shore and only in a few areas nothing out in the middle.Any time your near the bank you should be using your trolling motor anyway.Just follow Bronzeback Bomber around all night...
masssilversrt4 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I'll be pre fishing this weekend.. haa.. Going to scope out my spots..
emti56 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 well this sucks but i just got reminded i already made plans to go to new york camping for weakend i was realy looking forward to meating you guys and sharing some laughs but family first. Maybe i can make the short ride to onieda and get some time in. hope to get the chance to do the next one. love to fish the nite and you guys are right rocks should not be problem at night for big motor but a trolling motor isn t cheap ethier but would still love to be there. looking forward to some pics and if things change i am there...
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 should i not but my boat in this lake if i have never been there i do not mind a scatch or two but like to stay afloat until its paid for and that should be about never I see no need to panic. If your an intelligent, responsable boater you should be fine. I don't see you cruising @ 60mph, 10 yards away from the shoreline in the dead of night. I may have an opportunity to get there prior to the T to check things out, considering it's been over 20 years since I've been there. I will post any dangerous obstructions I find. I'm making no promises here, hence the underlined "may have the opportunity". Ultimately, you are solely responsable for your own actions. Which reminds me.........
emti56 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 i was not planning on running around and this is a great group of guys i would have to believe we all work hard for what we have and would not hold an event were we would be sinking are boats was more looking for heads up on possible dangers but that does not matter now to bad for me trust me i am not afraid to go bump in the night for the chance at the sound of a splash as long as its a bass making it
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I'm a tourny permit getting virgin and because I'm starting a new cartopper only club, I want to do it by the book so to aviod any problems getting future permits. So, anyone who shows up to fish the T will need to sign a waiver that has to be sent into MA F.B.A. Thanks for understanding! Here's what I must abide by: Rules and Regulations 1.This request must be signed by a designated representative of the managing authority (state agency or town that manages the facility) before it can be approved by the F.B.A. (Office of Fishing and Boating Access). Requests submitted to the F.B.A. without the aforementioned designated signature will be returned to the applicant. Applications must be submitted to the F.B.A. at least 30 days prior to the event. 2.All parking is on a first-come basis. Parking is for vehicles with boat trailers or vehicles with cartop boats. This permit does not guarantee the availability of parking for this event. Each car/trailer above the maximum allowed under the permit shall be considered a separate violation of law. 3.Any user fees in effect at the facility under consideration for special use shall be paid by the applicant if required by the managing authority. 4.Maximum of two permits per year will be issued to any club for the use of any one facility. Two day events Saturday/Sunday shall be considered two permits. 5.Only official applications for the year in which the special use occurs will be accepted. Applications will be accepted and processed in October for the following year. 6.All participants in the event must be notified in an appropriate manner so that the Commonwealth shall not be held liable for personal injuries or damages to property and a copy of said notification is to be provided to the Office of Fishing and Boating Access. 7.The applicant shall leave an adequate number of parking spaces (as determined by the Office of Fishing and Boating Access) available to the general public. Launching of boats or parking at another location shall be counted as being part of the total allowed for the event. 8.Upon completion of said event the facility must be left in a clean and litter-free state. Any and all damage to said facility or grounds shall be repaired to the satisfaction of the Office of Fishing and Boating Access. 9.The applicant shall keep a written record of all participants in the event. Said record shall be produced when asked for by any employee of the Commonwealth having police powers, a representative of the managing authority, or Office of Fishing and Boating Access. 10.The applicant may be required to hire an Environmental Police Officer (E.P.O.) for the duration of this event. If an E.P.O. is required under this permit it is the responsibility of the applicant to make those arrangements. Please contact the Environmental Police communications center at (800) 632-8075 to make said arrangement. Only if we exceed 25 boats, which is highly unlikely. 11.If an event is reduced in size as to no longer require an E.P.O., the applicant must notify the F.B.A. and the Environmental Police at least Fourteen (14) days prior to the event. 12.The applicant or an appointed representative shall display the permit in his/her vehicle windshield in a visible manner. 13.Any violation of the Rules and Regulations may result in denial of future permits
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Out of curriosity, would those of you who are not interested in fishing this get together mind letting me know the reason why? You don't have to post your answer in the thread if you don't want to, and could PM me instead. All PM's will remain anonymous. I'm just trying to get an idea why, in order to avoid the issues for future get togethers. Is it the body of water, Night T, prior commitments or another reason? Your honesty and participation is greatly appreciated!
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 2 reasons,....prior commitments and I really don't need the money that bad right now ;D 8-)

Your honesty and participation is greatly appreciated! ............ .......... #1 reason) It would seem the body of water chosen was the main issue. Concern for their boats at night on a pond not to many of them know. #2 reason) Afraid the cops will show up to enforce your home confinement. #3 reason) The men with nets in white coats will come to take me away
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Dallas may be with me.. I should know by this weekend.. What a guy! Thank you!
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Feed back please............. Do we want to keep this strickly a BR event? Or invite other sites to join in? I'm fine either way, just thought we might be able to fill the feild of 10.
WTRDOG Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 Those 10 slots should've be filled by now. Reason for not fishing #4:The weather can be chilly at night this time of year, and alot of guys said their legs would get cold .Seeing they wear skirts. Paul...I myself would like to see people from the site but If those girls at the "girls gone wild"site still wanna fish.....Let them in me and Craig have plenty of room for a couple on my boat....
